Bentley should of never been moved to Center in the first place, Fontenot should of been resigned and then you have a strong middle of the line. Then again this is Haslett we are talking about, logic didn't apply

I get Jr maybe a bad seed but they should have thought about that before the extended his contract.

I only used Jr because of the rumor mill that SP is sick of him. that is all

then again pick 31 could go OLB.

but swapping him for additional later picks or even the next years works for me also

I wouldn't mind that, I've wanted Gallette gone before the "arrest" headaches

Stupidest thing we ever did at the guard position back then was letting him walk in 2002. LeCharles Bentley was drafted in round 2 to fill his spot. so we spent a 1st and a second by 2002 to fill one spot an in the end Bentley was at center. So we had to go find yet another player to fill the guard position. Montrae Holland in 2003 in the 4th. next up Jahri Evans in 2004. and so on

Bentley and Naeole would have solved so many issues for years on the OL.

typical Jim Haslett move.

I still like the pick today. some times longevity and solid play on the interior lines out weigh pro bowls

Good point on Naole... I had misremembered.

Winning cures a lot of discontent. I don't recall Jr being a problem when we were winning games. I don't mind a guy being sour about losing wish more of the guys had that feeling. I know losing sucks as a fan but I can bet that guys that put their blood sweat and tears into a season it feels worse than anything. I like the fact that JR gets to the QB

The problem is we can't tackle has been that way for a long time.

I also think that Peyton should look in the mirror as well cause for a offensive guru supposedly his offense has been predictable and nothing new in years maybe he should come up with a few new wrinkles to the playbook. I thought that year off he would have come up with something new but I've yet to see anything new

Fontenot did only play one more year but. 2003 draft i was eye balling Dan Koppen from BC for the saints as his replacement. i was on a roll back then

Bentley Fontenot Naeole

Yep the interior of the OL would have been solid for a year at least

Naeole i wanted from day one. so i am bias :saintsfan:

Maybe I'm bias since I played center and guard but an offense only goes as far as it's offensive line can take them. You want proof, compare 2009 results to last years

It will be hard to get rid of him now that he has a contract that greatly over pays him.

Gallette had his salary turned into a signing bonus before the cap deadline

"By converting that bonus into a signing bonus, the Saints can now spread the salary cap hit that comes with it over a five-year period.

This restructured contract saves the Saints $10 million when it comes to the NFL's salary cap."
