Paying for the best Coaches
I\'ve wondered that myself. That\'s the one place where the owner can really open up their pocket books to try to get the best results inside of the rules of the salary cap.
Also, did anyone notice that Singletary is the DC in SF? He was my number one choice to replace Venturi. (He is my head coach in Madden.) I guess we\'re just gonna keep Rick. I mean, 32nd in the league. Who can argue with those results? Think about that at any job any of you have. \"Yes sir....I had the worst results of all my peers and I have been consistently in the bottom of my area of expertise\" \"Good job....go get em next year\" More and more I believe that coaching is just a fraternity, where people just like certain people and they get jobs. Once you\'re in the fraternity, you can always get a job (and it\'s usually a decent one.) The only way to get out of the fraternity is to bang a stripper or steal or something where they just can\'t force you on the public any more. Carl Smith was generally viewed as bad around these parts and off he goes to join an up and coming organization. If you watch Saints tape and ask who has been running the O for the last 4 years, an educated football person would say that the playcalling has been bad and there has been very little improvement in any area. I put this on coaching. But, what happens? Mike gets interviewed all over the league and is viewed as a hot commodity while his end results are not very good. They look at us and say \"Fans Schmans\". What do we know about football? Well, I can call every play before McCarthy runs it. Does that mean I can join the Fraternity and be a DC? |
