I'm fine with taking a tackle. Not so much on taking Peat, however. I felt like La'el Collins would have been a good pick, but for whatever reason teams have turned their backs on him for something he appears to have nothing to do with. That being the case, I didn't like any of the other tackles as first rounders, With Peat and Humphries being my least favorites.

When you read his strengths and weaknesses they're all "he's good at this, this, this and this........ Oh and he also sucks at all those things we just said." That tells me nothing. When I look at some of his footage, he just doesn't look very dominating at all. And you better be dominating the college level if you're going to be a first rounder. To me, he's at best a second round project like Armstead was. Though Terron's physical tools gave us much more to work with.

Obviously I hope he works out, but I just really don't agree with taking such an unpolished player that high.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

I'm not going to lie. I don't think I like this pick. We are gonna have to draft another olineman. But it will have to be fourth round.

Is he gonna be NFL ready? I think this was a panic pick in reaction to Beasley.

Yeah I'm the same, I'll gladly admit I was wrong if it works out but I think it was a hasty decision bearing in mind our real problems on OL are currently at guard.

I would have rather us taken a pass rusher at #13, couple of guys were still there.

Um, I don't think so, not per Peat who said he felt there was a good likelihood they would take him.

I dont think it was a panic.
In some ways we were very unlucky. Out of the top 15 talents 3 of the players that would have been on our board have major issue last few weeks. Who was really overlooked?
Dupree fell 10-15 spots lower than the media said showing that the men paid to pick players didn't go with the offseason hype. Malcom Brown dropped to 32 when talk was anywhere from 9-25. So who knows.

Peat was the number 1 LT in mocks during the whole college season.
Look at how many of the OT taken the past couple of years struggled year one. Peat has a man with the same size and weight,a team guy to bring him through for the first year if needs be.

I LOVE this pick! A big guy with great feet. His height-weight ratio tells me that he could pack on 10-20 more pounds without getting slower. Good long arms. And he went to Stanford as a psychology major which should mean he is pretty darn smart. I believe we will see Streif getting phased out and this looks like a good replacement.

with Collins slipping Peat became the solid #2 OT of the draft. This is a great pick, not as sexy as we would all like but a great pick to fill the holes on our line and immediate plug and play
