Re: Cam Jordan Sign Extension - 5 year 60 million
bummer. Big money for a middle of the road end. Solid, great guy but too much $ for his production.
|
Re: Cam Jordan Sign Extension - 5 year 60 million
Hard to like that deal.
|
Re: Cam Jordan Sign Extension - 5 year 60 million
Steady, Reliable and likeable guy but that is JJ Watt type money and Jordan is not that level of player.
|
Re: Cam Jordan Sign Extension - 5 year 60 million
JJ Wat is going to get $100 million.
|
Re: Cam Jordan Sign Extension - 5 year 60 million
would have liked to trade him
|
Re: Cam Jordan Sign Extension - 5 year 60 million
I don't see anything wrong with that deal, it could've been worse

Re: Contract Extension for Cam Jordan
Will this prevent our defense from "Feeling it tomorrow"

I would of capped Jordan at no more than 5 years for 35 mil. |

Re: Cam Jordan Sign Extension - 5 year 60 million
There's not a thing wrong with it.... The defense overall was bad last year and he is a player who gets that. Knows he can be better... If you don't give him this standard deal and lock him up then when the season is over and he has put together his 13 sack season you would have to give him 90 million... Its smart to do it now....

Re: Cam Jordan Sign Extension - 5 year 60 million
It's a solid deal imo. It's a good bit less than what we would have had to extend him for prior to the 2014 season. He's still just 25.

Re: Cam Jordan Sign Extension - 5 year 60 million
I don't get the disapproval here.
Cam should be in the top 5 in sacks/hurries again this year. |

Cam Jordan is "part of the solution"....

Re: Cam Jordan Sign Extension - 5 year 60 million
We all knew this was coming. Loomis always extends contracts for mediocre players.
|
Re: Cam Jordan Sign Extension - 5 year 60 million
Nah. I don't have a problem with this. He's better than mediocre. I wouldn't call him top 10 but he's solid. If he gets back to 2013 form, no one will gripe about this contract.

I like the signing just wanna see numbers like '13 season...

Re: Cam Jordan Sign Extension - 5 year 60 million
We were awful last year, how much of it was on him? I don't know but they obviously feel not much. He's not a one man wrecking crew that's for sure but he has the right attitude and ability if others are carrying their load around him. I think they feel they have that now.

It's probably because we remember how bad the Smith and Grant deals ended up being after not looking too bad initially, especially Grant. I'm kind of on the fence with this one, the NFL.com article about this mentioned that Jordan is a good fit for either a 4-3 or a 3-4, but I think that is the problem - he fits multiple schemes, but rarely excels in any of them. Still, he's a high character guy with a good pedigree, so the Saints could've done a lot worse. |

Awesome! Now we have him and JG!!!!!!! Can't wait to see him start showing up half the time too. What a joke.

Re: Cam Jordan Sign Extension - 5 year 60 million
For this type of money I want to see "Cam Jordan vs Packers" in every single game. Otherwise we overpaid for player who occasionally flashes potential.

Re: Cam Jordan Sign Extension - 5 year 60 million
Boy, there sure are a lot of you that "think" they know more than management. All you are doing is proving how little you do know. Of course, it is the same small group of suspects. We all know who you are and no longer take what you say with any expectation of reality.

With Akeem Hicks contract around the corner I would've like to see which one of them go all out to earn that contract this year

Re: Cam Jordan Sign Extension - 5 year 60 million
I don't get the whole notion of "you know less than the management/front office/coaches, so you shouldn't argue against or question their decisions."
If that would be the case, this whole forum would just be a bunch of homers cheering on every single move the Saints ever make without a fault - I for one don't see the point in that. This is not directed at anyone in particular, just against this particular evolution of forum behavior that I've come across on various forums more frequently in recent times. |
Re: Cam Jordan Sign Extension - 5 year 60 million
quick look at cap hits WITHOUT looking dates contracts signed and such. Also not knowing the details of the Jordan contract
Charles Johnson $20,020,000 Mario Williams $19,400,000 Robert Quinn $16,744,111 Jason Pierre-Paul $14,813,000 Calais Campbell $14,750,000 J.J. Watt $13,969,000 Chris Long $12,500,000 Cameron Wake $10,450,000 Everson Griffen $8,200,000 Cliff Avril $8,000,000 Michael Bennett $8,000,000 so all in all it would appears to be a solid deal given the cap increases and the insane contract dollars we are talking about in today's NFL. at the end of this deal Cam could end up being a bargain. Even if he just turns in a solid performance over that time period. Once again gotta see how this break downs cap wise before a thumbs up or down rating is given It is all about cap hit |
