The one-year deal is worth at least $1.5 million, including a $500,000 signing bonus, according to ESPN Stats and Information. Williams, 34, can earn another $600,000 in not-likely-to-be-earned playing time incentives, though the specific thresholds are unknown.

Since it’s not a veteran minimum deal, the Saints will have to count the full $1.5 million against their salary cap if Williams makes the roster.

The Saints still have $2.64 million in salary-cap space, according to the NFL Players Association.

Williams will do fine until we draft next year. However, picking at 32 limits our options.

Last 5 seasons he averaged 2.9 sacks a year. He missed 3 games in that span, granted he was not in there all the time but still, I don't plan on seeing him much on the field for anything other than a role player.
