Offensive MVP - Joe Horn
Defensive MVP - Charles Grant Most Improved - Fakhir Brown Biggest drop-off - Vickey Riley Top Rookie - Will Smith, (but Watson, Karney, and Bockwoldt were very close) While I was trying to decide on our best rookie, it occurred to me that 2003 was a pretty dang good draft, relative to previous ones of course. If Henderson develops as most 2nd year WR's do then it may be our best draft I can remember. Also remember that we traded a #3 last year for a number 2 this year, which allowed us to get McKenzie. |

But, I disagree with Will Smith being only slightly better thatn Watson and Karney. I think Will Smith played MUCH better than Watson or Karney. Now, Bockwoldt was pretty close, IMO. Other than that, I agree. It was a very strong draft and the signing of McKenzie was a GREAT move. Put another point on the board for the \"kepp Haslett\" crowd.... Joe Horn Deuce McAllister Donte\' Stallworth Le Charles Bentley Charles Grant Mike McKenzie Will Smith Just some of the players Haslett has brought to New Orleans. Not too bad Haslett. We need more though [Edited on 2/2/2005 by GumboBC] |

start another thread. last year\'s draft was okay but the sullivan/stinchcomb debacle the year before was one of the worst blunders in recent, if not all-time, team history. i liked the mc move too. but who was calling the shots in getting dale carter or letting go of glover? it is the subject of much debate how much personnel stroke haslett imposes. i think more with his proclamation, then implementation of the failed heavy lunch bunch, for example. just make sure if you give him kuddos for personnel moves you include the whole picture of the charlie clemons and henry fords signings as well as the release of the sammy knights, etc (better than what replaced him, even if slow). Why don\'t you start another thread and talk about what you don\'t like about my posts? That has nothing to do with the \"title\" of THIS thread... For every bad move Haslett has made. And there\'s been a bunch of \'em. I can list just about as many good moves.. Just to name a couple: Ricky Williams? Kyle Turley? I think Haslett has indeed set this team back by getting rid of players like Willie Roaf and Le\' Roi Glover. But don\'t forget, Randy Meuller was here when a lot of those players got sent packing.
