So do I. Add that to the Vicodin rumors and it makes sense why Payton didn't challenge Goodell's over-reaching punishments when Greggggg was here.

I'll always love Payton and Loomis for taking us to the top of the mountain, but they're becoming increasingly disappointing. One more bad season and I think it's time to move on from them both.

I have no interest in reading what this sociopath has to say.
I dont care... true... false... whatever. I wont dignify it by reading any
of it. Airing alleged dirty laundry wont make him look clean. And this is
complete classlessness. I invite all of you to ignore him also, and to ask
yourself, "Do I have anything in my life, I wouldnt want broadcast to the
World?"

Are we really worried that the D is gonna suck? It SUCKED last year WITH
him.

bye bye!

Believe Payton and Loomis finally realized that they needed a strong presence to challenge their personnel and draft moves, hence Jeff Ireland...

Payton is still top of the food chain talent as a coach; Loomis is basically a bean counter with no idea how to build a team from a talent, personality, character standpoint...

Ireland is the perfect complement and will form a great trinity of leadership for this franchise...

That is the assumption. And probably the last card left to play...

You bring up a good point Chris. Sean has had his wake up call & it has taken longer than anticipated to get the team "back on track" after his 1 year suspension. If you listen to any of his recent pressers, I hear and see focus in his responses and a sense of vigor, energy and urgency. We have the pieces in place to rehaul/rebuild a contender in the NFC South.

As stated before, I think the message is strong by Payton for 2015... especially considering that he would cut ties with a knuckle head sack leader and absorbing a mind blowing 12M cap hit in the process.

We'll be fine :bng:.

I know what you mean.

2010, 2011 and 2013 were perfect opportunities for us to get another super bowl and we messed up all of them!

Lost to a 7-9 team in 2010 playoffs
Destroyed teams all year in 2011 and then unravelled in the playoffs
2013 defense finally became top 5 and the offense couldn't even manage a first down vs Seattle.

I agree to some extent that if we have a disappointing season this time around it may be time to go in another direction in terms of head coach.

And who would be a better choice?

Don't know... But Payton seems to be playing this continuous game of trying to get his players to buy in. It doesn't seem to be working lately. Combine that with Loomis being mediocre in the draft and giving big contracts to players willy nilly and it's just getting old.

Valid, though not popular criticisms; and you're seeing the reply in the release, trade of players who fail to embrace the faith and the hiring of Jeff Ireland...

Galette's release comes less than one year after he signed a lucrative contract extension meant to ensure his long-term future in New Orleans.

"(It was) the worst call they've ever made," Galette told NOLA.com | The Times Picayune Friday afternoon. "It was a terrible call to kick me when I'm down."

Galette met this summer with NFL officials in New York about his January arrest for domestic violence at his home in Kenner. The charge was later dismissed.

I think Payton lost a smidgen of respect from the team w the vicadin debacle and the infidelity thing in his marriage. Hanging out and partying w Kenny Chesney all the time didn't help his image either. He needs to regroup and prove that his focus is on the team and not on having fun and chasing tail. I think he's back on track.
