John Shoop...
we know of a couple of turn downs but we don\'t know how many that have been contacted and not even wanted an interview. they might be at this point on the list. sad ain\'t it?
after these years of mediocrity there needs to be some splash to invigorate the fans. hire chow! he might end up being a decent interim head coach one day. In 1999, assistant coaches averaged $130,000. That figure nearly has doubled, with more than 15 coordinators making at least $1 million. Tampa Bay defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin is believed to be the NFL\'s top-paid assistant, making $1.7 million. Saban has signed offensive coordinator Scott Linehan and offensive line coach Hudson Houck to three-year contracts worth about $2.5 million apiece. Most position coaches from the Dave Wannstedt era were to earn $225,000 in 2005, but Saban has spent considerably more to lure replacements from other teams. Saban also is planning to carry a healthy load of staff assistants to work under position coaches. |
