As Drew Brees drove the Saints to the end zone on the opening series of the club's annual preseason scrimmage Friday, his six completions included two to Watson and two to Colston, capped by Colston's touchdown on 3-yard fade.
While Colston is the Saints' all-time leading receiver, he is also 32 and began his 10th training camp last week on the physically unable to perform list. Apparently, his undisclosed ailment was minor, and he said he doesn't foresee his role in the offense changing significantly. ''It's felt really similar to what I've done in the past,'' Colston said. ''Going into Year 10, physically I'm not the same as I was in 2006, and with that comes some little nuances and just things that I can do technique-wise that can make up for maybe some of that.'' http://sports.yahoo.com/news/saints-...5969--nfl.html |

A little disappointing that Josh Hill has been practically invisible all training camp after Payton spent all Offseason talking about how good he is.

He not only is extremely intelligent, but is a precise route runner, and a far, far better run blocker and pass protector than Graham will ever be.
Graham was a one trick pony, and while that trick was great, it hobbled the Saints over time because defenses knew where the ball was going when he was on the field and knew a run was likely when he was sent to the sideline. Watson is an every down TE, something that Graham can never become. |

Yeah I'm a little disappointed too. Had high hopes for the kid this year. But you can't go wrong with Watson. I think the two of them will make a good double threat. At least when either or both of them are in the defenses won't just smother them "knowing" it going to one of them.

Definitely agreed about Ben Watson, his days in New England I always viewed him as one of the most genuine and underrated athletes in the league. |

Did these passes occur against 11, 10, or 12 men? After the articles on the defense, one has to ask?
