What if Benson croaks?

He is 76 or 77, his brother died last year at 74. I'm just wondering? It does seem to be a good sign that he has his grand daughter listed as Owner/Executive right under his own name. They must have some thought of keeping family control. His new wife is from NO. her interior decorating background might come into play for the superdome rennovations. lol

Maybe she could use her interior decorator skills to redesign the uniforms. Black helmets, a new strip, some kind of floral pattern, some potpourri...

it\'ll be like that except worst. second or third generation southern socialites are the worst managers I\'ve ever seen..as a general rule.

call me sick but i thought of a great promotion. call it benson legacy lottery. when he dies he leaves a one million dollar lottery for saints fans. in the season before or which he dies for each season ticket someone owns they will get one lottery ticket for one million dollars. give luxury box renters 10. come on down fans, support\'em before i go.

I know exactly what it will mean. It will finally be glory days for the Saints. Mark my words, his granddaughter is the BEST THING that could ever happen to the Saints.

How do I know this? Simple- I share a bond with her. Both her and I are Aggies from Texas A&M. Now I know LSU people say they are really serious about football.....but you haven\'t seen serious until you have seen the 12th man yell in Kyle Field. The girls around here ( I am currently studing at A&M now) know more about football that any girls you can imagine back in Lousiana. I know that simply because she graduated from here she knows more about football (and cares more) than Big Benson ever did.

He only has the Saints to sell cars. He doesn\'t care about football. But his granddaughter does. Why do you think she gets to run the show after him? Its because she asked to. Its because she wants to.

She would be willing to do what it takes to get the Saints into a golden era. Now if only cheap-ass Benson will keep his promise to her and turn over the team before it is in Cali.....

Trust me....as a New Orleans native that has lived in Texas a good bit of my life- these people care more about football than anywhere in Lousiana outside of the Capital. If the governor of Texas ever tried to run off the Cowboys, she would be appeached and put on death row.

Texas investors have saved the Saints before, and a Texas girl could save the team again. Benson is the only thing in the way of glory.

I seem to remember that Benson\'s granddaughter - the future Owner of the team - is currently running the show for the Voodoo. Benson was using that as a way of getting her feet wet in managing a sports team.

It\'s hard to say whether it\'ll be good or bad when she takes over. I hope she\'s learing a lot right now. Maybe she\'ll learn that she needs to bring in football people to handle football decisions. That\'s something Benson in his nearly 20 years of ownership has yet to figure out.
