Re: 4th and 20 D was Sean's call
I have zero opinion about this game. I didn't watch it, I didn't follow it online, and I barely even thought about it. The pre-season is boring enough, but I learned a long time ago that the first one and the last one are especially meaningless.
I wouldn't have known about this 4th and 20 play if it weren't for this thread, but I can't say I really care about it. This is what we should expect. It's either going to be vanilla or over the top aggressive in the most inappropriate times. It's just practice. Now if guys are missing tackles and dropping passes, that's something to complain about, but hardly anyone of importance was playing. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Overall I was slightly disappointed in the 1st quarter (but we didn't have Brees), and the last 2 minutes (with numerous guys who won't even be on the team in 3 weeks). Everything else was a typical pre-season performance. I give us a C-minus. I'm not gonna panic yet. |

Last season in pre-season was why I drank the kool-aid. Now it's the same old crap out of our D. I'm not liking this 4-3 under we're playing more and more. It's more of a 4-3 blunder.

I often wonder if the Big Lebowski knows what he wants on D. We have a lot of speed and size this year, yet we play the opposite ![]()

My biggest concern with this team is from the DTs, or lack thereof. #95 and #71 played well at the spots in scrub time but who knows what they'll do against the 1s. |

Missing out on that big man, really wanted Xavier Williams (DT, N. Iowa) or SOMEONE BIG in the 7th. In 2014, we take SJB (58th) over NT Dix (83rd)? In 2013, NT Kwame Geathers who went UDFA was there in the 7th and made a team. What? Didn't like the name Geathers this decade? Why don't we take a flier on some big ones late? Well, recently we picked up veteran DT K. Williams, at least. Pray we're not yet done. |

That being said, $150 million in salaries would have projected a slightly more coherent 1st game than has been reported. Is the altitude in WVa causing brain damage? |
