Not concerned at all. Ingram 1a. Robinson 1b. If Spiller is available, that will be great. But, in Ingram and Robinson, the Saints have two top quality guys who can get it done in both phases of the game. And without Spiller, Payton will be less likely to use his horrible one play per back rotation.

Re: CJ Spiller has knee surgery
It is rather annoying that they took this long to decide on "cleaning it out". It would seem that he developed a problem recently for them to do this now, but if we believe what the Saints are saying then it should have been done much sooner.
If it is in fact just a little maintenance, then why delay? That's the only part that bothers me a bit. |

Re: CJ Spiller has knee surgery
Honestly I'm surprised Spiller was able to stay healthy this long.

Re: CJ Spiller has knee surgery
My guess is Hightower makes the squad and Spiller goes on bring back IR. But, if the injuries keep happening like they did in the first game, anything is possible. It's always a numbers game. The one wild card is Murphy. If he shows promise on offense, being he's already shown his return skills, Hightower could be the odd person out if Spiller is healthy.

Re: CJ Spiller has knee surgery
Byrd's back procedure was minor and he has had no problems with it ever since. The meniscus tear that ended last season for him is not even remotely related.

Re: CJ Spiller has knee surgery
Regardless of who remains healthy, I just hope we are not as predictable on first down as we have been for the last two years:
The running back who is behind Brees on first down gets the ball between the tackles. No questions asked. :vomit: |

Re: CJ Spiller has knee surgery
I drafted Spiller in the 8th round behind Ingram, Gore, and Gurley.

Re: CJ Spiller has knee surgery
Wouldn't mind going out and getting another running back for the corps...
Tim Hightower was underwhelming and we really could use another big RB... Didn't there use to be a guy named Thomas?!? |
