I think you meant Brandon Williams? Yeah I get it, he is a very good/productive player at this stage of his career. Ozzie sure can find defensive studs can't he? Big John on the other hand isn't getting it done .

If you look at it from a business stand point Rob is the manager while vitt and then are assistant managers that actually are the true hands ppl towards the players in there respected positions. So if the defense was horrible before Rob took over I highly doubt firing Rob and getting another DC while keeping Vitt and company will make the defense solid. Not backing Rob but i think Payton if this year is another crap year fire Rob, Vitt as linebacker coach, Johnson, and Mc Griff and start new across the board.

This is probably the best point that can be made for RR. If we really wanted to give Ryan a fair shot then he should be able to bring in his own guys. Hell, if I was a highly touted DC on the market for a new job I wouldn't accept someone picking my staff for me. This might be a reason we didn't get Jack Del Rio or Romeo when they were available. Of all things Payton brings back another one of his 'boys' in Allen... Rob has to feel like he has no control because Payton's minions are all around him.

Just look at how much we're debating this. A team with a real defense doesn't have to do this. Well done Payton.

Come on Chris that meddling a$$ fool won us a Superbowl on the most gutsy play ever in the history of football.

I won't condemn Ryan either until the season starts. I don't think he ever was a good defensive coach but he's ours and this is only preseason.

As Iverson once, twice or twenty times said, "are we talking about practice", "practice right", "we are talking about practice right"!

Get my point? Thanks

Should have asked this question earlier but who was the guy here that used to post as Fireventuri. Does anyone remember and is he still around.

ehh, I don't think this is 100% off base because I think people like to work with their peope, but he took the job knowing this, and he was hugely successful in 13. Something changed...we need to figure out what it was and get back to what worked.

To me, no pressure. 13 we had a lot of pressure.(that and not having greer or someone to replace him)

And you wonder why the NFL won't let the public own stock shares in any other teams than the Green Bay Packers...

Then again, Green Bay is Title Town when it comes to the NFL...

Not just Ozzie. Baltimor coaches are no joke either. They sure know how to develop talent. We on the other hand...
