It happened right when he was planting and no, its not that odd.
Todays athletes are bigger, faster and stronger than ever before. They move faster at a higher weight than what they used to 30 years ago. Thsi creates quite a big force on joints and tendons and they might snap just like what happened here.

Hate it for him, love it for having to cover him and eliminating one of Newton's big targets.

We had a promising RB tear his ACL untouched during a walk-thru several years ago.

Can't remember his name but he was a big and fast UDFA I think. Kinda reminded me of Natrone Means.

If it were one of our guys I bet Panther fans wouldn't be shedding any tears.

Lynell Hamilton by any chance?

Played really well late in 2009 superbowl run and in preseason, then tore his ACL and was never heard from again.

Hate the team, but dont wish injury on people, even Cam Newton.

I'd like to see one of our LB's blindside him into next year, but I dont wish
injury.

I actually think this guy is overhyped; he was invisible against us last year.
That said, he is a big target for them, and losing him brings their win total down 1-2 games easily.
Ginn or Cotchery as a starter? Great news for us.
