The Atlanta Falcons first-team defense posted another first-quarter shutout in a preseason game Friday, this time blanking the New York Jets through their first five possessions.
The Falcons through the first quarters of two preseason games have outscored their opponents 31-0, a margin that included a 17-0 lead last week against the Tennessee Titans. For a unit that ranked last in the NFL in yards allowed in 2014, the fast start under new coach Dan Quinn should be encouraging for any Falcons fan, even if against two of the weaker offenses in the league. For fans of the New Orleans Saints, who play in the NFC South with the Falcons, should the Falcons' start be cause for concern? read more |

That is impressive, especially to say 4 of our starters in the secondary did not play. |
