Wide receivers

I admit that I thought we were in trouble in that department especially since we got rid of Graham and Stills. It looks now that we may be ok after all. I like the way Cooks progressed from last year it seems. Coleman and Snead along with Morgan seem to be just fine. I think we found some diamonds there.
Its one preseason game but the offense was pretty damn exciting. Defense looked better too but still no pressure. I think we have the personnel to get away with the strategy of simply outscoring our opponents. If our D is even a little better than last year we may be ok after all.

With Coleman size and height, I would like for him to be more aggressive for the ball although that ball was not catchable that McClown threw in the end zone, I would prefer a stronger effort to attack the ball in the air, even if he had to run through the defender

I expect him to get better as the year goes on and he has a high ceiling. I am excited. If we can get spiller healthy...look out man

Cooks continues to impress, cannot really tell with Colston as veterans usually don't show much in preseason. I think if Spiller doesn't come through that the Saints will be fine in the screen game using Ingram, Robinson, and eventually Murphy could be a major contributor.

What I am not liking is what I am seeing out of the #3, 4, and 5 WR spots. No one appears to have stepped up, maybe Snead kinda sorta??? TE has not been impressive either, but think Ben Watson will be fine for the short term once the season gets going.

I was disappointed in Santaveus Jones. He didnt do much when had the opportunity. Was really expecting a lot more from him. Josh Morgan, even with that fumble, looked good - he has some fluid moves - next time he'll remember to switch the ball to his opposite arm. Snead caught just about everything thrown his way as usual, and joe morgan looked good when he had his opportunities. Coaches will have some tough calls to make.

Josh Morgan should know by now not to carry a loaf of bread like that.

No, that ball was catchable, but perhaps not at his current stage of development. A more experienced receiver with his height and reach would have come down with that ball still extended instead of attempting to pull it in allowing the defender to punch it out. I don't fault him since he is still lacking in experience, but I have no doubt he can learn from that encounter.

Pretty much agree and I would add that Saunders may have lost his slight advantage with Murphy's showing in the return game. I really hope Snead does make it because he has no fear and GREAT hands.
