The New Orleans Saints have more than $4 million in salary cap space available as the regular season approaches, according to several estimates.
So there shouldn't be any reason to worry as the team prepares to cut salaries -- not add them -- in the final days of the preseason, right? Well, not quite. The Saints must reduce their roster to 53 players by Saturday afternoon. But another key deadline doesn't happen until Sept. 10. That's when the NFL changes its salary cap accounting rules. In offseason mode, only the most expensive 51 players count against the salary cap. That allows teams to sign players to build up their 90-man offseason roster. read more |

I would like to know what Spencer's injury is, because he is a guy who I would like to see an injury settlement with. He would likely be open to it as he's a guy who is getting up in years and would probably like to have some productive game tape for next season.
