A lot of stuff that has gone down in the offseason and pre-season has benefitted Atlanta. GB loses Nelson, Seattle has lost a DC to Atlanta, secondary, oline, C, Dallas has lost their big RB, signing cancers, Philadelphia has traded away Foles and let Maclin go and relying on Bradford, Arizona oline problems. Our O will improve, their D will improve. Other than them, only the vikings, rams, and bucs in the NFC are the other three that made upgrades and out of those four who do you think is coming out the best? The only thing I have for Atlanta not winning the division is the 3rd place curse. But we need to be serious here, they will be down our throats, and I believe that is going to push us to succeed. Falcons after all have forced us to play hard(2010 when Brees has that torn MCL and playing through it).

Had it not been for Atlanta's changes I would not be that optimistic but no one motivates us more than them trying to steal our thunder. That week 6 game could be the catalyst to a turnaround if we start out struggling. I just do not believe our locker room or front office is gonna allow them to run away with this division.

In order to be the best you have to beat the best. If Atlanta get better, it is not the problem. The problem is when you have years of crappy draft picks that are no longer on the team and high cap injured free agents and high cap veterans no longer with the team, it becomes impossible to have a great team. We are depending on rookies and a few veterans to put this team over 50/50... and Drew Brees. Without him Payton and Loomis would both be fired.



Sadly, I don't think we are going to make it. Damn... I have to stop hanging around with Peter King.

Unfortunately I agree. I just didn't see much from the defense this preseason and the players we were relying on to be playmakers are injured. Keenan Lewis was probably the worst. I hope they surprise me.

I don't think the vikings, lions, cowboys, and eagles(unless either of them win the division, but I think its giants) make it to 9 wins. I think we beat Dallas head to head and we are 5-1 vs. eagles since Brees and Payton took over. If we lose to Philadelphia, we would need to win in Atlanta last game. Unless we win the division I don't want us to win that game so we can possibly go to Atlanta again the next week(GB and Seattle will be top two and east winner is probably 4). We will not win two straight weeks there. It is that odd number season we sweep them again if the trend continues. And I honestly think we will because we will either be winning the division or they will have it locked up before that game and won't need to play their starters.

It's going to be a down year in the NFC again because the top two have flaws now and the NFC East has them also. So I can see a 8-8 or 9-7 wild card. But I want us to beat Arizona or Indy and Houston.

That is one reason why I hate being in this division because of all the damn number curses.

We have 9 days rest and after a home game(different than road) before our game in Indy and they will be coming off a game against NE that they have got all their attention on. I believe we will trap them and it will us winning big or it going down to the wire.

I am excited going into the season but really don't expect much. If we are lucky we will get a late season push by getting some of those starters back and maybe get on a roll in December. Its all about when you peak. They just have to make sure that they don't dig a hole too deep to climb out of.

All I keep hearing is how Atlantas starting defense has not allowed any points in pre season. 9 times out of 10 when you keep hearing things like this early in the preseason it never pans out. A great example is our defense last year. I will be surprised if Atlanta is much better than last year. At least I hope so.
