cleveland is rumored to be shopping jeff garcia to det to supplement the failing harrington. i could not remember his name being mentioned here before. he has 3 yrs left on contract but the last 2 are voidable. 4.5mil for '05. would you vote yea or nay on him being an acceptable replacement in n.o. if such an positional opening were to occur? |

Garcia?...I\'m a definite yes on that one...call him whatever you will..he makes plays..all day long...
But...I would rather have him replace Brooks...not just sit back and wait around...He is very familiar with the West Coast Offense...and he would be a huge asset.... |

C-A-N-C-E-R. He was brought in to rejuvenate Cleveland\'s offense, and all he did throughout the year was complain and ***** to the media about his team. That\'s why Cleveland wants to ship him off.

Garcia was once a good QB but I think his good days are behind him, Garica was once a very good runner also but those days are gone, I prefer Brooks over Garcia and Harrington,
Harrington may turn out to be a good QB the next two years but I beleive that he\'ll be just an avg. QB in the NFL [Edited on 10/2/2005 by LongTimeFan] |

NewsChannel 5 in Cleveland is reporting that quarterback Jeff Garcia will be released by the Browns sometime before March 1st. If he is still on the roster on that date, he will be owed a $500,000 roster bonus by the team. It\'s unlikely that his West Coast style will fit into the more conservative, grind-it-out approach likely to be employed by new coach Romeo Crennel.

didnt wanna a new thread so i\'m adding this here- i found this interesting commentary on mcmahon at footballsfuture.com- (bold mine)
Mike McMahon, DET, UFA (77 yards, 73.3% comp, 0 Td, 1 int) Strictly a backup, but an intriguing one. A gifted athlete, he appears to be the type who can rally a struggling team when a spark is needed. He would fit best with a team who has a stable yet mediocre starter, acting as a constant motivator merely with his presence. BEST FITS: Detroit, New Orleans, Carolina, Seattle, NY Jets, Houston, Tennessee, Denver, Kansas City LIKELY OUTCOME: His days in Detroit seem to be numbered, as his presence seems to rattle Joey Harrington. He will likely sign for a reasonable amount with a team tired of the roller coaster play of its starter. New Orleans seems a prime destination. |
