This is how my Saints would look. The Defense
This is the things I would do this off season to try to improve.
Let me know if it makes sense to you. First I would bring in a couple guys to fill in some of the gaps we have. Starting with a linebacker or two. I don't want to spend a lot of money cause I plan on making a push for D. Johnson. I'll start with two linebackers I would take a look at. I'm not saying I would bring them both in, but I would try for one. 1-----/Akin Ayodele 2-----/Will Witherspoon Here is a couple defensive backs I would bring in. Once again I'm looking for value and young depth. 1------/Anthony Henry 2-------/Gary Baxter Here are some line-man that should come in and push our tackles. Maybe Sully will show up this year. 1-------/Monsanto Pope 2-------/Leonardo Carson These are some guys that should not cost a whole lot of money and at the least bring in some competition. Now in the draft I have my mind set on one guy, and he is Derrick Johnson. I would give up my first, Howard and a second next year to move up to get him.Hell I'd throw in Pathon, Bouman, and Ruff. I might even change the name to the "SuperDome" to the "Titans Arena" if thats what they wanted. If I could not get up there for D.J. I would settle for Kevin Burnett, possibly trading down to get him while picking up a pick or so. Then in the second round I would go after another DB. Ernest Shazor, or one of the corners that might drop, like Webster or Jackson. Remember our second round pick is #40, a pretty high second rounder. Then with the third round pick I would chase down the Nugent kid. I know what ya'll are saying but remember the Jacksonville game and tell me it ain't getting close to time to get a kicker. I cant wait for next year. Thank god for Madden................ |

Too bad Nugent will be gone before the third round... and our 2nd rounder too high to pick him. He will be the next great kicker for the next 20 years.

Da RAIDAHS spent a first on Janikowski. Maybe if we get an extra pick or so by moving down we can get him late 2nd? Early 3rd? It would be worth it depending on what other needs are met.
