More on the imminent decline of Brees
Who did Drew hack off over at the 4-letter word of sports?
New Orleans Saints Football Clubhouse - ESPN Drew Brees was fifth in QBR last season at 73.3, a figure higher than his composite 69.6 score from 2006 through 2013. So all's well, right? Not exactly. Consensus around the league is that Brees has slipped. "He doesn't throw as well," one offensive coordinator says. "His lower body is not as good. He's been nicked up a little bit." Some noticed a certain level of panic creeping into Brees' game, but that seems understandable given how far the New Orleans defense has fallen. One number to watch is interceptions: Brees had 17 last year, third most in the league, thanks in part to the pressure put on him by a D that ranked 32nd in EPA. With the loss of TE Jimmy Graham, the defense can't afford to languish (draft picks 31 and 44 went to linebackers), and the running game has to improve (pressure's on, Mark Ingram and C.J. Spiller). -- Mike Sando |
Re: More on the imminent decline of Brees
Everybody that has no clue and are far too lazy to research just listen to other idiots making the same claims. In his own words Brees felt he had a bad season, even given the fact that he was tied for the league in passing yardage and was second in passing percentage, because his mechanics were off due to a preseason oblique injury.
Brees is fully recovered from the oblique and has returned to his earlier training techniques to get his mechanics back to where they belong. You can expect a banner year from our leader this season. To hell with those lazy writers. |
Re: More on the imminent decline of Brees
Whatever state Drew is in, I'll take him. My opinion is the coach has asked too much of him. Which Drew wants and gladly accepts. But, the team needs to run the ball more and have more balance. It would help out Drew and it would help out the defense. They have the line and backs to make it happen.

Sando..what a blowhard. Dude never has anything good to say about our team. I don't know why he is giving his worthless opinion on a team he doesn't even cover.

Re: More on the imminent decline of Brees
I'm not agreeing w the article, but Drew has had a lot of costly interceptions, even pick 6's ovee the last 2 seasons. I still believe he's a future hof qb, but I also think he has to prove that he still belongs in the elite top 3-5 status
