How do you explain the wounded ducks Brees through in that game?
Have you watched his press conference when he said he just didn't throw the ball well...

Brees holding on to the ball for too long is just as much of an issue as the line, and when he had the time to throw he couldn't get the ball there. He is done, now more than ever because he got hurt, but rather than make the tough call and bench him Payton will let him play. Brees will look like a shell of his former self for the rest of the year while we rely on the running game and defense to win games.

Listen, I didn't want to see Brees go out like this but after watching his post game presser and reading about the parts they edited out I was shocked at his attitude. I think, for the first time, he knows he's done.

Hopefully the rumors that Brees tore his rotator cuff aren't true.

Can't be happy with this stat, but it's very likely Brees was injured;
"Brees was just 2-of-12 on throws of at least 15 yards down the field Sunday (16.7 percent). That was his worst completion percentage on such throws in the last 10 seasons, according to ESPN Stats & Info."

I don't think there is a question of Brees being hurt but rather how bad is it, he clearly can't throw the deep ball.

The BNG is the place I go so that I can be knowledgeable about my Saints. We have so many great members who bring in and share tremendous info. Our members help keep me sane when things go wrong...........

Having said that "Stop with the doom and destruction talk"!!!
We have already taken steps to turn the team around. Now give it time! There will be growing pains but we are growing and getting better. Who Dat! :bng:

The ducks came as a result of a hit Drew took, and that was a result of some pitiful blocking on Strief's part. Our O-line has been having it's lunch handed to them from Gerald McCoy & Co for as long as I can remember. So what I am struggling with more than anything is, knowing that, why can't we chip block or stunt or SOMETHING to help the cause?! Definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over w/ different results expected.

When this team was at its peak, what I distinctly remember us being good at was, IN-GAME-ADJUSTMENTS. I just don't see it anymore. AM I missing something? It just doesn't seem to happen that way anymore. In years past, from the first quarter through the course of a game, you could ALWAYS see us make some type of adjustment and I can't find any examples of that happening these days.

Maybe it's all relative. Maybe those adjustments were easier because we had more depth, and the bad drafts, poor contracts, etc. are all just magnified as a result.

Admittedly, I haven't watched a game this year, but what happened to "Brees is in mid season form" as the preseason ended?

He was until the hits on his shoulder.

He barely played this pre-season, which tells me this may have been an issue before the season started.

He didn't look so hot last season. Ducks, poor judgement, but what I looked for the most was the throwing behind recievers that = arm strenghth.
