Re: Sean Payton needs to give up play calling duties
I have no idea why people pick on SP when the defense has sucked for so long.
Your try putting up 35pts a game for 9 years to win, its pathetic. We should be Booing them every time they waste clock and allow 30 pts. We have had the worst defense in the NFL for 9 years and the best offense in the NFL for 9 years, and your mad at SP? Im piss at some of his calls, but I know what lost us playoff games, and cant hold, and that defense. They suck |

Look at last year Vs falcons in the dome we scored 7 points Vs Bengals in the dome we scored 10 points Vs panthers in the dome we scored 10 points Of course the defense will let up points if the offense are on the field all of 15 seconds and then punt it straight back. |

Last time I checked we had 408 yards vs the cardinals but came away empty on 3 redzone trips. |

Re: Sean Payton needs to give up play calling duties
Not sure if the play calling is a real issue, but I get the point of it for the reason to focus on being the head coach. The problem with anyone trying to call plays is the talent level is considerably lower than it was just a few years back. Devery Henderson, Lance Moore, Jeremy Shockey/Jimmy Graham, Darren Sproles, Pierre Thomas, Colston in his prime, okay now that you get the point where are the replacements for all these guys? Brandin Cooks is a nice start but who else do the Saints have in the passing game?

Re: Sean Payton needs to give up play calling duties
A head coaches job should be to focus on the area of the team that needs the most help....I'm sick of everyone complaining about the defense when everyone of us and every other team knew it would suck....well now we have the offense to match. I will say this again....for the last 4 years everyone said lets just not have the worst defense in the league and we would win 10+ games. But that's what happens when you just trade all your weapons on offense away.
Now, let's talk about Brees...before the hit last week he couldn't throw the ball down the field so don't use this injury as an excuse. When was the last time he three a 40 yrd or more pass down the field that a wr didn't have to stop a wait for the ball to fall out the sky? This team sucks right now period...and I'm for anything that might help so just maybe Carmichael might give us a different look on offense. |
Re: Sean Payton needs to give up play calling duties
First of all, one or more of the veterans is inadvertantly tipping our plays at the line; as much film as there is on these guys, someone was bound to find something...
Second, the right side of our line is 30+ years old, each, have gotten paid, so there not as spry as they once were... Third, the best receiver in franchise history and probably as classy a person that has donned the black and gold probably has an arthritic knee and has been giving one of the bravest performance in sports right before our eyes with no fanfare - a trademark of his character... Fourth, we've got a 2015 rookie first round pick who came in out-of-shape (not the first) who needs to step the **** up and energize the right side of this offensive line... Fifth, we had two second round picks taken from us in back to back drafts - not that the Saints have done a stellar job in the draft prior to Jeff Ireland's arrival, but look at some of the names in those rounds that would have been there and process... Finally, the front office decisions with regards to Free Agency have been as big a handicap as the loss of those two second round picks; failing to outmaneuver Brees and agent by not signing Carl Nicks ahead of Brees, overpaying, rather over-extending for Evans, failing to sign a very affordable free agent guard this season, the front office effort and decision making has been completely awful since the fortunate bounces in 2006... Now that processed, when you factor the committments to Unger, Spiller and Ingram, as well as having the luxury of Khiry Robionson, not to mention an untapped Marcus Murphy, Payton has got to make more of a committment to the run... |
