Two things:
If Luke McCown were to win a game or two while Drew is injured then you can bet the calls to replace and trade Drew would echo throughout the land. The National pundits would be screaming for change. Payton could put in Grayson and let him get game experience because if Drew is injured we've got to look to the future. However, Payton is too stubborn to take even a small chance of losing and having it reflect on the final schedule. Hell, Payton wouldn't even try to get a better draft spot when we played Tampa last year. So they tanked the game and got the premium draft spot. |
