New Orleans Saints running back Deuce McAllister said he understands why changes were made to the team's coaching staff following an 8-8 season which kept the Saints out of the playoffs.

"Obviously it's a situation where we were a stagnant team,'' McAllister said Friday on a visit to Shreveport for Circuit City's grand opening. "Offensively, defensively, and at times, on special teams. Hopefully it will give us a boost.

"I lost a good coach, our running backs coach (Dave Atkins). I wish him the best. Probably the best thing about the whole situation is we'll keep our terminology. It won't be a whole new system. We'll keep our terminology the same. There will be some tweaks in the system, obviously.''

think about how long this has gone on and how bad it is when a player is telling the public this at a circuit city.
