Jimmy Graham

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; There are 2 ways to look at this. Either he is upset about getting traded or he, painfully, is speaking the truth. Either way coach should use this as a locker room motivation tool....

Re: Jimmy Graham

I know he was hurt at times but more than a handful of games he completely vanished, add to that the excessive drops that really killed us last season, that one push off TD, team effort but that one move cost us the game and the playoffs and it was not needed, especially with all eyes on him the last play of the game. Really no way to justify it keeping him. Our lines were getting weak and something had to be done. It didn't work out for them or us in the end but it was the right call.

Re: Jimmy Graham

What kind of "man" posts a little shot like this on the computer? Then is so spineless he deletes it immediately after?

I'm sorry. I like him here. Defended him. Was rooting for him. Was proud for him.

This is no man. This is a little boy, mad about being dealt with, up in his room pouting and taking shots at his oppressors through the "safety" of the Internet.

Punk. Glad he's gone, and my reasoning has nothing to do with football. He's too stupid to know he just justified why Payton send him packing.

Re: Jimmy Graham

Excuse Me. I don't take it as a slight at all. Look at the moves the Saints have made in the past 4 years. Can anyone honestly say that we were trying to put together a serious Super Bowl push while Brees is still productive? Jimmy Graham is entitled to his opinion just like everyone else. When a team trades the biggest offensive weapon on the team one year after resigning him for a center (albeit an all pro..BTW hows that working out for us?). Spin this any way you want.. WE SUCK!! Coach and GM are not getting bashed as hard as Graham who we traded???? The ugly honest truth is we are closer to putting brown paper bags on our heads and drowning our sorrows in hurricanes!

You don't think coach and GM are getting bashed as hard? You haven't been paying attention to anything if you believe that. Jimmy doesn't have to like the move. You don't make disparaging remarks publicly about your former team, if you're any kind of an adult.

The Saints found this guy and gave him a shot. Drew (when he was healthy and at his best) made Jimmy into what he is. How's he looking in Seattle, so far? Who gave him all that money? We traded him to fill other holes. Did our team do a good job of filling holes, and replacing the weapons we've lost? Not so far, and that has been the cause of much bashing.

But if the Saints had no regard for Jimmy they would never have paid him. No excuse for him to show such disrespect all while his Seahawks are off to a prolific 1-2 start.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

I'm no fan of the Seahawks but I'd dare say they right their ship and sail deep into the playoffs. You sound as if it was Graham's fault that Loomis agreed to that contract. I would wager that Graham's former Saints team mates don't have an issue with what he posted or think it was disrespectful.

We are what our current record says we are.

I sound as if it were Graham's fault that Loomis agreed to the contract? In what way do I sound that way? I said if the Saints had no regard for him they would not have given him that contract. That wasn't clear enough? And if you want to talk about blame, why did Jimmy sign if he hated it here so much? It's because he didn't hate the Saints until, Apparently, now after he got traded.

I saw you tell someone that the trade could be viewed as gutless. How is that possible? There are a lot of gutless things I could point to, from players to coaches, but that trade isn't one of them. We went 7-9 WITH him last year. Was it his fault? No, though his amazing ability to disappear in big games didn't help. The point is that we needed more assets and trading Jimmy afforded that opportunity. That's not an easy decision to make. But you say gutless? You might want to rethink that statement.

We're not a very good team right now, but Jimmy being gone isn't why. Drew can't throw the ball more than 15 yards with any accuracy or zip, we have a crappy offensive line, a leaky defense and a dearth of talent at WR. Jimmy would be getting double covered and throwing up alligator arms in traffic.

And finally, if the Saints players don't find it disrespectful that a former player is talking crap about them, then they have no pride and can jolly well follow him out the door. Jimmy is asserting that we suck. Do we suck right now? Yeah. If you've read this board you would know that isn't exactly in question. But those guys didn't do anything to him, and he's talking garbage after he's gone. That's what's gutless.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Careful what you ask for... using your logic we'd have a hard time filling a game day roster. Yes I said GUTLESS and what else can you call a trade that caught everyone including Brees by surprise. Drew Brees made Jimmy Graham can also be looked at as Jimmy Graham elevated Drew Brees. End of the day its a business. I take umbrage when fans talk **** about a players loyalty to management who traded him like a thief in the night. Kool aid drinkers only see it one way, when the guy that they cheered as he dunked after scoring touchdowns for us...was traded by the same mgmt. Now
he's disloyal????
