Brooks asked to do too much?
Haslett said on ESPN that they relied on Brooks too much this year. Well, I've often thought they ask him to do too much every year. Mainly because the defense can't stop anyone!
I've often wondered how many times Brooks has to pass the ball as compared to other QB's around the league. Well, here's a little comparison with some of the most prolific passing attacks in the NFL! Aaron Brooks: 2001 - 558 passes thrown. 2002 - 528 passes thrown. 2003 - 518 passes thrown 2004 - 542 passes thrown. Matt Hasselbeck: 2001 - 321 passes thrown 2002 - 419 passes thrown 2003 - 513 passes thrown 2004 - 474 passes thrown Peyton Manning: 2001 - 547 passes thrown 2002 - 591 passes thrown 2003 - 566 passes thrown 2004 - 497 passes thrown Mark Bulger: 2002 - 214 passes thrown 2003 - 532 passes thrown 2004 - 485 passes thrown This list, while it doesn't compare every QB in the league, it does give some kind of indication of how heavily our offense has counted on Aaron Brooks and the passing game. Is it fair to say that our team has relied on Brooks too heavily? And is it fair to say that he's asked to do too much? [Edited on 11/2/2005 by GumboBC] |
