Byrds reputation alone makes teams think twice about attacking him. Granted that fear is not what it once one. He has to prove he back to form.

So I think your right and KV has and will benefit. Not taking anything away from KV here. He appears to be catching up with the mental aspects of football at the NFL level. He seems to be putting himself in the right spot at the right time to make tackles

But I look at the KV and Byrd relationship in a different way. Is Byrds helping KV more beneficial to the secondary or is it actually hurting the secondary and limiting the impact Byrd can have on this team?

I have always leaned to the latter in this debate. We need a cover SS back there with Byrd to maximize the return on that ridiculous contract we signed him to.

KV needs to make some serious improvement to coverage skills if that is possible. He is a LB trapped in a SS body. So far all I see in his game is Roman Harper. Old school SS. Not what you need in the pass happy NFL at SS. But what the heck time will tell. I was always Stone Hands Harper fan.

Still to early to tell Byrd needs to play to judge KV effect on his play. Right now KV is one of my favorite #3 safeties in the NFL. Like I said I am not taking anything away from KV, by today's set of rules a solid #3 safety is key and is very valuable.

I'm not a fan of Vaccarro but not many teams are testing Byrds deep ball skills and has allowed V to do a lot of freelancing, so far he hasn't been burned to ofton and Byrd which you stated has been in position to wrap up when V has. Give Byrd a cover SS and our secondary would be outstanding. Byrds ability to mask is a thing of beauty but qb.'s like Brady or Rodgers will unmask weaknesses very quickly.
