SAINTS HIRE PYNE AS ASST. O-LINE COACH; PROMOTE HENRY TO ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH
February 17, 2005, New Orleans Saints
Feb 17, 2005 – 11:01 am

The New Orleans Saints have hired Jim Pyne as assistant offensive line coach, it was announced today by the team. In addition, Coach Jim Haslett has promoted Jack Henry to associate head coach/running game coordinator. Henry, a coaching veteran of over 30 years who has been polishing the skills of NFL offensive linemen for over a decade, had served as the Saints' offensive line coach since 2000.

"We believe Jim can bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our offensive line," said Haslett. "I wanted to hire a bright coach who has proven skills as a teacher and who understands the fundamentals and techniques of playing up front. Jim will also have the assistance of Jack, who is one of the best offensive line coaches in the business and a wealth of knowledge. Jack's position has evolved as well, as he will use his expertise in blocking schemes and his understanding of our system to improve the production of our running game."

LOL.

We hire Robinson from a horrid 49er secondary. Then we sign Pyne from a terrible Bucs O-line staff. What are we doing? Maybe a change of scenary and talent level will help them, but shouldn\'t there be better candidates out there?

Just like our front office, I don\'t have a clue what we\'re doing.

Question: Where are the BIG CHANGES Haslett promised - nay, demanded?

Seems like just another Saints spin. Say what the fans want to hear now, and they\'ll all forget in a few months. I\'ll bet anyone right now that come training camp Haslett says that this is one of, if not the, most talented and cohesive groups he\'s had since he\'s been here. Anybody want to bet? LOL
