Payton lost the team last year. The only difference this year is some different players.

I wasn't mad at him for WANTING to go for it, even though the situation clearly seemed unreasonable to do so. I just figured "yeah, sean's gonna overrule him".

But when he was actually allowed to defy his own head coach, and then proceeded to make a dumb pass... All I could do was chuckle and say "wow... what a mess".

Metal,
I saw that as well ...

I'm at the point where I think these guys are not zoned in or responding to SP anymore. Not that Drew was right, but man it seems that everyone on this team is doing their own thing. We are not on the same page offensively, defensively or special teams :help:.

Exactly, man. That's what made that whole situation unsettling for me. The play was obviously ridiculous, but we see a lot of those. We're Saints fans.

It was all about the fact that there was no respect there. And from the face of the franchise, no less. I'm not saying that Brees hates Payton, or that he's going to do that on every play from here on out. But you could see a disconnect beyond just the play, itself.

You couple that with all the other squabbling going on, and the fact that Browner is continuously allowed to run amuck, both on the field and off it. It's not pretty.

Snead is battling a knee injury, so I would imagine as quickly as it got out of hand in the second half it didn't make much sense to play him.

For some reason the Coach didn't know it was 4th down.

Agree, not much discipline /teamwork out there. Looked like things were improving and then the tranny just gave out. I understand, a lot of new faces but I have seen many of patched up teams in mid season hold it together. This looks like something way more to do with than players.

Snead had one target and yet Coleman was nearly invisible again.

The ones who tried to start a rebellion was benched or injured (Ingram, Kikaha),,, just plain out pathetic!!!

I don't know if Payton trying to force the hands of the executives to terminate him. Rob Ryan, did he get amnesia on how to run a defense. Defense, do you have any pride? Jahari Evans it's time for you to retire. Colston luv ya but you need to retire. Spiller, you need to be in jail for robbery (tear up your contract). Byrd, you have more in common with Spiller besides Buffalo (robber) Vacarro, how hard is it to play man? You left theTE so wide open that if you didn't follow him in motion I would've never knew who responsibility he was. You can't play zone and you take poor angles like you don't want tackle. Browner, I thought the saints couldn't sign a worst cb free agent than Jason David,,, I was wrong. Anthony, it's time for you to step up and be a leader.

A rookie does not need to be the leader. That might be a problem if that was why we drafted him. There are older leaders that simply overshadow him. That's not good for a defense. He needs to just listen.

Spiller ran the ball 3 more times than Ingram Hightower had the most touches 11
