this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I don't believe we tried hard enough on offense. That is pathetic. I expected this to be a good game for Snead and he gets 1 target?...

Re: Snead 1 target?
Yeah they was weird. Then Ingram had that big run and they just gave the ball to Spiller all the time after that. Wtf?

And, where was Brees' man Watson. WTF? And, why aren't we using Coleman either? The play calling the whole game made no sense.

Re: Snead 1 target?
They gave up. Plain and simple. You have your best back on the bench when trying to pick up a yard. Then you finish the game with hightower running it the rest of the way. The 4th qtr couldn't end fast enough for us. I thought last week's loss was bad but this was the most embarrassing loss to date in the Payton era. They have thrown in the towrl.

Re: Snead 1 target?
Brees didn't get the memo that we gave up on the season and went for it on 4th down on our side of the field. Apparently, he was the only one cause the entire team got that memo after halftime. The ones who tried to start a rebellion was benched or injured (Ingram, Kikaha),,, just plain out pathetic!!!
I don't know if Payton trying to force the hands of the executives to terminate him. Rob Ryan, did he get amnesia on how to run a defense. Defense, do you have any pride? Jahari Evans it's time for you to retire. Colston luv ya but you need to retire. Spiller, you need to be in jail for robbery (tear up your contract). Byrd, you have more in common with Spiller besides Buffalo (robber) Vacarro, how hard is it to play man? You left theTE so wide open that if you didn't follow him in motion I would've never knew who responsibility he was. You can't play zone and you take poor angles like you don't want tackle. Browner, I thought the saints couldn't sign a worst cb free agent than Jason David,,, I was wrong. Anthony, it's time for you to step up and be a leader. |

Re: Snead 1 target?
all I saw was SP plugging in the bench by the second quarter when Kelemete replaced Litto. from there on the saints were free wheeling with all the back ups for the most part.
Why? your guess is ass good as mine. My guess? Starting roster evaluations for the pre draft needs chart. Litto is a FA in 2016 so lets see if we get stuck paying as a starter or do we have something on the bench to work with? Might get luck and have some one to plug in for Evans. It's a swing and a miss! stttttrrrrrike one From there on it was WTH lets see what the rest can do. your guess? |

Re: Snead 1 target?
I've been bashing the defense about pretty much everything they stand for in life, and rightfully so. But I have to say, the most embarrassing moment I may have ever seen in the entire Payton/Brees era came when Drew decided on his own that he would go for it on 4th down at his own 25 (or wherever it was) in the 4th quarter, down by 30. That Drew would go for that was puzzling, but that alone was not what made it embarrassing.
Two things: Payton clearly wanted no part of going for it, and yet he just stared out onto the field, confused, and didn't call a timeout. The second part is that Drew then proceeds to, on 4th and 4, throw a two yard pass to a guy who had a defender building a house and raising his family on his back. He could not possibly have been less open. I know Drew is a hall of famer, and yada yada, but if you're Sean Payton, do you really want to let that guy just walk on you? I appreciated that Drew didn't want to give up. I wasn't mad at him for WANTING to go for it, even though the situation clearly seemed unreasonable to do so. I just figured "yeah, sean's gonna overrule him". But when he was actually allowed to defy his own head coach, and then proceeded to make a dumb pass... All I could do was chuckle and say "wow... what a mess". |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.
