I wasn't mad at him for WANTING to go for it, even though the situation clearly seemed unreasonable to do so. I just figured "yeah, sean's gonna overrule him".

But when he was actually allowed to defy his own head coach, and then proceeded to make a dumb pass... All I could do was chuckle and say "wow... what a mess".
Metal,
I saw that as well ...

I'm at the point where I think these guys are not zoned in or responding to SP anymore. Not that Drew was right, but man it seems that everyone on this team is doing their own thing. We are not on the same page offensively, defensively or special teams .

Exactly, man. That's what made that whole situation unsettling for me. The play was obviously ridiculous, but we see a lot of those. We're Saints fans.

It was all about the fact that there was no respect there. And from the face of the franchise, no less. I'm not saying that Brees hates Payton, or that he's going to do that on every play from here on out. But you could see a disconnect beyond just the play, itself.

You couple that with all the other squabbling going on, and the fact that Browner is continuously allowed to run amuck, both on the field and off it. It's not pretty.
jnormand and K Major like this.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

That was one play at the end of the game where it really didn't make difference whether we went for it or not our defense was going to give up a score regardless bad throw bad protection that play is really being given to much attention

It matters, because it looked pathetic on all parts. There's no reason to go for it down by 30 with 9 minutes left, from that part of the field. The fact that he waved off his own coach and the coach just let it happen... Who exactly runs this team?

And then, for all Drew's heroic intentions, he throws the dumbest pass possible. It's a combination of how the whole game, and season have gone leading into one of the dumbest plays of the year, in which the player made himself the coach, that makes it stand out.

Nobody is saying "man, that play was so stupid. It cost us the game". It's not about whether or not it made a difference in the outcome. It's how bad of a look it gave the team, after everything that had already happened.

That's why I personally took exception to that play.
