Were do we stand now?
Here is the current 2016 NFL Draft order (will be updated after Monday's game):
No way will we catch these guys up here 1. Cleveland Browns: 2-8 (.500 strength of schedule) 2. San Diego Chargers: 2-8 (.513 SOS) 3. Tennessee Titans: 2-8 (.519 SOS) We might do some shuffling here 4. Baltimore Ravens: 3-7 (.494 SOS) 5. Detroit Lions: 3-7 (.519 SOS) 6. San Francisco 49ers: 3-7 (.531 SOS) 7. Dallas Cowboys: 3-7 (.544 SOS) Home sweet home 8. Miami Dolphins: 4-6 (.481 SOS - 2-5 in conference) 9. Oakland Raiders: 4-6 (.481 SOS - 4-3 in conference) 10. Jacksonville Jaguars: 4-6 (.487 SOS) 11. St. Louis Rams: 4-6 (.506 SOS - 3-4 in conference) 12. Washington: 4-6 (.506 SOS - 4-3 in conference) 13. Chicago Bears: 4-6 (.513 SOS) 14. Philadelphia Eagles: 4-6 (.525 SOS) 15. New Orleans Saints: 4-6 (.531 SOS) We might do some shuffling here 16. New York Jets: 5-5 (.474 SOS) 17. Seattle Seahawks: 5-5 (.488 SOS) 18. Kansas City Chiefs: 5-5 (.491 SOS) 19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 5-5 (.500 SOS) 20. Houston Texans: 5-5 (.525 SOS) 21. New York Giants: 5-5 (.506 SOS) 22. Indianapolis Colts: 5-5 (.531 SOS) 23. Buffalo Bills: 5-4 (.513 SOS) 24. Pittsburgh Steelers: 6-4 (.497 SOS) 25. Atlanta Falcons: 6-4 (.500 SOS) No way will we catch these guys down here 26. Green Bay Packers: 7-3 (.469 SOS) 27. Minnesota Vikings: 7-3 (.488 SOS) 28. Cincinnati Bengals: 8-2 (.447 SOS) 29. Arizona Cardinals: 8-2 (.450 SOS) 30. Denver Broncos: 8-2 (.478 SOS) 31. New England Patriots: 9-0 (.468 SOS) - PICK FORFEITED 32. Carolina Panthers: 10-0 (.463 SOS) 2016 NFL Draft order: Cleveland Browns hold on to No. 1 pick - SBNation.com 15. New Orleans Saints: 4-6 (.531 SOS) As it stands now our strength of schedule (.531 SOS)will once again not only have us dealing with a bad season but will cause us to be the last in line with equally ranked teams. Such is the SP curse. Even tanking we get the short end of the stick. Another way to look at it is this an SOS of .531 means the saints have played the second hardest schedule to date right behind the cowgirls. So Rob may have had a point...nah his defenses are the reason we are today. That is all. |

Re: Were do we stand now?
I'll tell you where we stand... In the corner, behind a lampshade. The lamp is not on, and the party is upstairs. That's where we stand.
But seriously, how is our schedule ranking ahead of ANYONE? Good lord this league sucks. There's no other way to explain how we have had a "tougher" schedule than anyone. EVERYONE SUCKS. Are there any people out there who haven't yet realized the difference between "competitive balance" and watered down feces? Yeah, you got it. The NFL is diarrhea now. Good job growing the game, Goodell... Pansie. |

Re: Were do we stand now?
I had this tanking discussion with my brother last night. My conclusion:
Bad idea. Anytime you get players thinking about anything other than winning, it sets a terrible precedent for the organization and each individual in that organization. I'd rather have a team that scraps and fights to 10-6 or 9-7, misses the playoffs and picks 20th than thinking about tanking just get gain a higher draft pick. You cannot turn over an entire roster in a year. Especially with the salary cap problems the Saints have. So a lot of these players that are tanking this season will be back next season. Do you really want players that are capable of having a losing/quitting mentality on your roster? Plus as bad as it seems, the Saints are still only two games out from the last wildcard slot, with head to head games with two of the teams ahead of them (Bucs, Falcons). I know it sucks to be a middle of the pack mediocre football team. But we're better off trying to be the best middle of the pack mediocre football team we can be. And right now that's 10-6 with a shot to play the Packers or Vikings in the wildcard round. The catch 22 is terrible. You cannot really tank until you are out of playoff contention. And with the ebb and flow of all of these middle of the pack NFC teams, it'll be late December before that happens. So let's get to it. Playoffs or BUST! SFIAH |
Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO
Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good. |

Edit- I read his comment right, but after thinking about it, I don't know why having the "harder" schedule would put us behind the others. That can't be right. |

I have no expectations and I'm ready for change. Change in what exactly? I don't care... whatever will help us lose less games now and in the future.
