Somebody should have been shifted out wide to that side for contain. It should be simple - defenses even know to do this at the high school level.
I tend to agree however I'd like to see at least a few guys get healthy and see if Allen can make them serviceable. Our roster is so depleted that it's hard to see if you have any pieces moving forward.

This all adds up to one thing....Coaches & GM have to go.
I'm hoping we don't win another game this year because until you are totally dissatisfied change can not happen.

While we were competitive today it's not the same as winning. There was a time when we would have won a game like this one.

With Lewis and Breaux at corner. Not to mention Swann and PJ coming back next year we should have a solid secondary. Im liking Allen as our DC. Get someone who can constantly rush the passers and we are good. Oh and fire Vitt etc etc.
You forgot about RT. It may be time to move on from Streif, even if he played well today.

The thing is three of our corners are hurt, no wait, four. Who's to say it doesn't happen again?

What happened to the old offense that would force opposing QBs to play catch up? Carolina was not gonna punt on fourth down against us with a narrow lead. It was nothing like against NE, Atl, Ind, NYG a few years ago. That team is missing. That fire on offense is missing. If Cam were down three scores he would have started beating himself just like against Rodgers last year, Ravens and Eagles. We don't do this to teams anymore.

That challenge on fourth down doomed us. We knew the game would come down to the final seconds and SP threw it away.

Yeah that was ridiculous. I was 100% sure we were going to give up the lead after he blew that timeout on what was obviously a catch. And knew we'd need that timeout. It would have saved us a bunch of time and kept us from having to waste a down on the spike. But that's what he does. He only challenges the plays that he has no chance of winning.

Our D give up 41 points, couldn't hold up a 14 point lead. Allen has done no better. Payton needs to open his eyes and find us a proven DC to lead this D. The D started out on fire but fizzed out as usual. Easy pickings for a decent O.

There's a reason they fizzled out...

Starters in the 2nd half...

CB Brandon Browner
CB Chris Owen
CB Brian Dixon
LB James Anderson
LB Mike Mauti

All would be back-ups even on worse teams than us.

I remember a game that seems really long ago when Mike McKinsey come out of street cloths and we had a beat up secondary then to win that game. Allen didn't do so well last night no matter who was on the field, he tighten the D a little closer to the line until Newton loosened us up with the deep ball, Allen did no better than Ryan. Dixon and Anderson made plays.Mauti put a good shot on Newton, actually rung his bell. I didn't think they played that bad being back-ups.
