I don't think it matters anyway. Brees is gonna be here next year for sure and possibly another year or two after. Too many obvious needs on this team to be worrying about life after Brees. Especially when you just drafted a guy with a day 2 pick. What they need to be worried about is rebuilding the team around Drew ASAP so we can make another run or two at a super bowl. If Peyton Manning's half crippled ass can keep leading a team to the playoffs, I have all the faith in the world that Drew can do the same.

Payton Manning has a D behind him, Brees don't.

Tell that to Indy and KC who exposed that. Manning was beating Baltimore, KC, Detroit, Minneota, Oakland, Cleveland, GB[with a banged up offense] none of those teams are elite either. KC got them the second time though.

And our defense is nowhere close to being anything like Denver. We were not this in 09, and it's honestly asking too much for a defense we haven't has in a long time.

And you basically saying you want the saints to contend when Brees is on the decline is atrocious. Do you want Brees to lose in the playoffs like Brett Favre did when he was on his last legs?

This is the perfect draft for a team to grab a solid QB and have them sit and learn. the top 3 are all good risks. Still not sold on our pet project from last year.

Kevin Hogan - is my teaser. he finally put together a year stanford was hoping for a while now. but was it a one year wonder thing or has he really turned the corner?

Cody Kessler may end up being the steal of the draft.

Dark horse Dak Prescott just keeps kicking me the head. keep an eye on him

Look who he plays for. No thank you.

The red flags on him are as follows:
No leadership ability
Senior QB who did not get voted captain by his teammates(HUGE red flag)
Poor completion percentage for a college QB(anything under 60% is an issue)

I have only seen him play in the big games Oregon/Michigan and he didn't impress me. Anyone who has seen more of his games, could you please tell me what is to like about this guy? The gurus are high on him too but he seems to be a Ryan Leaf type.

Maturity, is close with Bryce, who we should have drafted. WE can't have a kid starting for us when Drew is done.

You probably need to see more than two games to truly appreciate him, IMO. I'm not an Michigan State fan, but I'll give Connor his props. He's something like 38-4 as a starter and probably MSU's most winningest QB, among other school records. BigTen MVP twice, et ... You don't become that by managing games, #shrug. He's a winner/competitor, he shows up for the big games and makes the big plays. He can throw the ball.

Who cares if his teammates didn't vote him captain? Popularity contest, #shrug. There isn't a police incident file on him. He's never stood on a table shouting obscenities, stolen groceries or allegedly done anything that could be construed as inappropriate to a young lady, #shrug.

He's taken his teams to the Rose Bowl, got 'em a couple BigTen Championships and into the BCS a couple times ... plenty of leadership, IMO. As much as any other college QB.

...well, he may just be our guy.

That pick in the 4th would be sweet, no question. I'm in the "hoarding-big-uglies-1st-through-3rd-rounds' club this go around.

Drew is the best QB for us in 2016 and 2017. He will fix his contract to allow signings for one last SB push. No way any QB coming in would be better than Brees.

Jones is trash. Barrett is much better. Boykin won't play QB in the pros. Carson Wentz from ND State and Brandon Doughty from Western Kentucky will be there in the 4th or 5th and will compete in 2018 with GG. Until then Brees is our QB. If they have a brain fart and get rid of Drew then they better draft Paxton Lynch. He would be the only one I see coming in right away and making any impact.
