Im honestly not sure but I think we may draft a QB with our first round pick if Brees gets cut/traded for whatever reason

I think it's a bad year for QB's in the draft and I wouldn't touch a single one of them within the first 3 rounds. On face value I would take Boykin, but again it would certainly not be early. I don't think it matters anyway. Brees is gonna be here next year for sure and possibly another year or two after. Too many obvious needs on this team to be worrying about life after Brees. Especially when you just drafted a guy with a day 2 pick. What they need to be worried about is rebuilding the team around Drew ASAP so we can make another run or two at a super bowl. If Peyton Manning's half crippled ass can keep leading a team to the playoffs, I have all the faith in the world that Drew can do the same.

I'm partial to Cook(MSU) and Jones(Ohio) because I've seen a lot of them, but they both got a couple red flags.
Seen scouting reports on Cook(MSU) as a projected third rounder/average NFL QB, but kinda' wonder if he wouldn't turn out a little better given the opportunity to apprentice behind a veteran QB ... you know, like Rodgers did. Probably a bit of a reach, #shrug. |

What if Chad Kelly decided to enter the draft?

This is the perfect draft for a team to grab a solid QB and have them sit and learn. the top 3 are all good risks. Still not sold on our pet project from last year. Kevin Hogan - is my teaser. he finally put together a year stanford was hoping for a while now. but was it a one year wonder thing or has he really turned the corner? Cody Kessler may end up being the steal of the draft. Dark horse Dak Prescott just keeps kicking me the head. keep an eye on him |

Re: Who is the best quarterback that you think will be available in the 2016 NFL Draft?
Can someone tell me why everyone is so high on Connor Cook? I am not impressed with his talent. He is a game manager in college, would be at best a clipboard holder in the NFL. Kirk Cousins was a better prospect coming out of MSU.
The red flags on him are as follows: No leadership ability Senior QB who did not get voted captain by his teammates(HUGE red flag) Poor completion percentage for a college QB(anything under 60% is an issue) I have only seen him play in the big games Oregon/Michigan and he didn't impress me. Anyone who has seen more of his games, could you please tell me what is to like about this guy? The gurus are high on him too but he seems to be a Ryan Leaf type. |

Re: Who is the best quarterback that you think will be available in the 2016 NFL Draft?
1. Lynch
2. Goff These 2 might be starters Day 1, depending on what team they land. They have NFL-caliber qualities, no question. Hogan, Kessler, Cook, & Prescott could be spot-starters in a few years. I've been more impressed with Hogan & Prescott than Cook over the last 2 years. Boykin...meh...hard to gauge with the defenses he's faced. He's on-the-fence as far as QB's go. Cardale Jones? Nooooo...his mechanics are horrible and he played, what, 8 games in college? Pass. |
