New Orleans Saints running back Tim Hightower added another chapter to his impressive comeback story on Sunday, rushing a career-high 28 times for 85 yards and a touchdown in a victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium.
Not many players can boast of having a career day four years after their career nearly ended. But for Hightower, 29, who until last month hadn't played in the NFL since 2011, Sunday's performance had to come close. "You know, I don't know what I expected," Hightower said of his workload. "I just made sure my body was ready, made sure I was hydrated. It was pretty humid out there today. I just had to make sure I was prepared. I didn't know what was going to happen. I just wanted to make sure I was ready." read more |

Re: RB Tim Hightower is workhorse in New Orleans Saints' win
You don't often see a gameball given to a RB who averaged 3 YPC.
I'm happy for him. What a great story. Hope he's on the roster next year too. |

Fearless.
Out of the game for 3 years with a career threatening injury. Gets one chance to carry the load and hits the holes without hesitation. |

My lady asked who Hightower was. She said I've never even heard his name called before. Because the announcers called his name every other breath.

Really happy for the man as a person. He fought his way back from the grave as far as football goes. 4 years trying to get back. Much respect.
