What about Laverneus Coles?
He wants out of Washington, and has demanded to be traded or released. What if we traded Joe to the Redskins for Coles? He is 27 right now, and is a stud. He is quite similar to Joe in the way he plays as well. He caught 90 balls last year on a terrible offense. Again, he is 27, Joe is 33 or 34 and on the last year of a contract. I Hope we can get this done with Wash cause Coles is a damn good receiver. As is Joe, but Coles is much younger.

i like the idea but somehow i cannot picture horn as the sort gibbs would target.
wr glut- leveranues coles, wash rod gardner, wash t.j. houshmandzadeh, cin david givens, ne plaxico burress, pit kevin johnson, balt derrick mason, ten mushin mahammed, caro jerry porter, oak add braylon edwards, mike williams, mark clayton, and troy williamson in the draft as 1st rounders pegged to start |

What about Laverneus Coles?
Too true. So what about Howard for Coles and we trade Joe to someone else? Surely he can draw a 2nd or high 3rd round pick. I mean rookie receivers are good to get, but Joe is a proven pro bowler with loads of heart. Coles and Joe Horn are quite similar receivers to me, the main difference being the age thing.

If we sign a player to a mega-contract and a huge signing bonus he damm well better have LB attached to the end of his name.
The only position on offense I\'d be OK with spending big is either OT or QB. But if LB, DT and S are ignored I\'m gonna spew. |

What about Laverneus Coles?
i think whodi didnt think big NEW money for a wr but rather get younger with comparable talent for the same money we have commited (or will be commiting more to soon).
i think joe could get a low first or second even. he isnt outrageously priced, kept his trap shut last year, and is pro bowl consistent. i do think gibbs could go for howard. he could go for a top 3 wr in the draft then. coles and maybe a toss in later pick. |

Defense first...
We aren\'t weak by any means in the WR position...although I will agree..more is better in that case... If it were up to me...80% of the total focus this off season would be on defense... But...who are we kidding...it isn\'t like Benson cares... |

What about Laverneus Coles?
I heard last night he wants major money. He had a 13 million dollar signing bonus with Washington. Don\'t know all the terms though. As a replacement for Horn, I\'m fine with that. I guess I should have read the post better. My bad.
The Ravens need a proven WR, they have an extra LB or two to deal. C\'mon Ozzie, throw us a bone will ya? Horn would look marvelous in a Raven uni. |

Some points.
Smoot will want way more than we can pay Coles. Coles has a $5 mil option in his contract for this year, but if he is traded the Redskins don\'t have to pay it. If they keep him they do. Considering he WANTS to go, I think they are in an untenable situation. I am sure they can use that money elsehwere. Howard for Coles would be cool and then like Danno suggested we fish for just a bone from Baltimore and shop Joe to them. MAybe they can tag Hartwell and trade him to us, but the deadline to tag was today so I guess that\'s out. Kelley you were right, I wasn\'t thinking of having Horn AND Coles, but getting Coles and replacing Horn. He is 7 years younger and pretty much the same receiver, but in a worse offense. He would fit in perfect here IMHO. |
