Ricky Williams bottom line: The Saints got two No. 1s from Miami for Williams, using one on Charles Grant and packaging the other with one of their own No. 1s to draft Jonathan Sullivan. Now bear in mind that New Orleans gave two No. 1s, two third-round picks, plus fourth-, fifth-, sixth- and seventh-round choices to get Williams initially. This means that in order to end up with Grant and Sullivan, the Saints surrendered three first-round picks, two third-round picks and four other selections. Yet the team's defensive line is still soft. Ay caramba.

i agree dberce.... it\'s one thing if the conversation is about brooks and stuff, but this whole \"let\'s turn everything into an aaron brooks debate\" thing is getting a bit annoying.... and i am a full supporter of shipping him elsewhere.... i just don\'t think that every single topic should revert to debating about how good/not good (depends on your view) he is....

dberce1 -
I suppose you\'re just going to have to overlook some folks bringing Brooks in every thread. I really with those posts would be deleted when the thread wasn\'t about Brooks. On to what the thread was about .... I\'ve never looked at it quite like that. You\'re right, that\'s a lot of draft picks invested in TWO players. Most of that falls on Mike Ditka. Ditka was really a coach/GM during his time here. Benson gave him full control of the team. Ditka set this team back for years, IMO! |

Ditka definitely killed us. The whole Ricky thing was the stupidest thing I\'ve every seen. He basically mortgaged an entire generation of Saints players for a walking bag of cannabis. I think maybe before that draft Ditka was sampling some of what Ricky was smoking. DDDDUUUUUUDDDDDDEEEE.
