Reed is the only one with consistent production worth drafting at No. 12...

If I'm the GM/Scout I'd do a TON of due diligence on Robert and talk to former teammates, coaches, trainers etc to find out as much as I possible. Depending who is out there & what reports tell them, I would pull the trigger on Nkemdiche.

Is he a risky pick? No doubt..I remember a lot of teams passed on Warren Sapp (including NO). We ended up selecting Fields .
The Saints need a DT that consistently control the like of scrimmage, and create seams/gaps so that our LB's and D ends have more chances to make game changing plays. We need a big, nasty tree stump, that isn't going to be pushed back and can get to the pocket & create chaos & destruction.

To be continued ...

Jarran Reed vs Georgia (2015) | Draft Breakdown

Didn't like the first game too much but he looked more relevant against UGA. He should be available when we pick.
Jarran Reed, DE/DT, Alabama 6034 313 5.14
I really like Reed. More so than A'Shawn Robinson. ok I will admit it is by a hair and based on the fact he can bounce inside and outside. I like the versatility so he can stay on the field no matter the down.

Vernon Butler DT LA Tech 6032 316 5.06

Is tearing up the senior bowl looks to be the big climber this year. people are starting to say first round talent. hmmm

Austin Johnson DT Penn State 603 325 5.27

Still like this kid

D.J. Reader DT Clemson 6021 325 5.04
Is another player that is doing well at the senior bowl. round 3/4 now?

Jihad Ward DE/DT Illinios 6051 296 4.98
Not to sure were to put him. he is just like Allen DE/DT that can stay on the field for 3 downs and can bounce inside and out. Basketball kid till 10 th grade so there would appear to be some solid upside still there to work with.

keep an eye on
Quinton Jefferson DT Maryland 6040 289 5.02

Want to change the DL completely for the saints?
R1 Jarran Reed, DE/DT, Alabama 6034 313 5.14
R2 Vernon Butler DT LA Tech 6032 316 5.06
R4 D.J. Reader DT Clemson 6021 325 5.04
R5 Jihad Ward DE/DT Illinios 6051 296 4.98

of course i see a trade down in the first

Re: 2016 NFL Draft Prospect Thread ...............

Kenyan Drake? hmmm a RB. I am guessing they see little chance of signing Highertower cheap and maybe the Robinson experiment is almost over?

Round 3? solid receiver, and runner. Issue pass protection?

how is the ankle?

Good Comparison of the two Bama Defensive Tackles; totally agree with your summation...

Was wanting to see how he'd do at this level; had him on one of my earlier mocks; I'd feel safer signing Free Agent NT Damon Harrison; but would love to take this kid in the third round...

I'm just not sold on this kid and is too much a risk above round four...

Like idea of taking Reader in round four than Johnson earlier, but that's why we have the senior bowls, pro days and combine...

This kid really intrigues me with a late round pick; but he's just not been able to put it together on the field and I don't think we have the defensive coach to make that happen...

Really like this guy as a developmental 3-4 Defensive End...

But, but we've got Cam Jordan!!!

Made it clear if Treadway is there, think Saints would make him the pick, but I can see Reed of this bunch in the black and gold and it'd make those Roll Tide types of Saints fans happy - until we start criticizing their play...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Re: 2016 NFL Draft Prospect Thread ...............

I can tell you bama has 4-5 nfl players on that defense theres value all over that defense, ragland is a stopper in on every play type joe hustle.i don't root for bamma being from ul and tiger country, but knowing that payton dodges lsu players i'm all in on bama.
