2016 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Alabama DL A’Shawn Robinson | The Draft Wire

Weaknesses

• Lacks flexibility and bend in his lower half
• Inconsistent get-off, will often be last defender off the ball
• Not an explosive athlete, speed-to-power conversion hurt greatly by lack of burst off the snap
• Way too upright off the ball, gets leveraged consistently and can’t generate push
• No violent hand usage to speak of, could be a lack of development
• Pass rush moves are non-existent, no hand swat, spin, grip/rip, swim, anything
• Inactive/robotic upper half allows him to be blocked easily
• Struggles to diagnose quickly, often pursues misdirections with several false steps, difficulty locating the ball
• Not a naturally instinctive player, wins with natural power only
• Didn’t beat a double team once on tape, completely overwhelmed by them
• Poor motor, will give minimal effort on passing downs and very little in pursuit
• Content with battling to a stalemate and simply holding ground
• Conditioning may be a question
