Fans I can understand, but the sports media should know better.

It's the Tom Brady move. He did this and the media pleasures themselves raw over how amazing it was that he took a "pay cut" even though he ended up making the same amount just without the same cap hit to the team.

Yup, and increased his guarantee. That is the win/win I mentioned earlier in this thread ... and about five hundred other times over the past three years on this site.
