Interesting. I wouldn't have made that observation from watching his college career, or any of his playing time in the pros.

I've seen numerous plays where he just didn't fight for the ball like a guy his size should. I know I can't be the only one that noticed that. I think several posters have made the same comment about him.

We have too many holes to fill to take a guard in the first round. Don't get me wrong......give Drew a little time and he will slice up a defense. We need a guard just not in the first round. I think we need to draft skill positions in the first round.

I don't put a ton of stock in PFF's grades. The eye-ball test works better. They can be bang on accurate such as the case for Browner but seriously is anyone here unimpressed with Anthony or deserving of such a low grade? Was Jenkins that much better? Anthony, while making many rookie mistakes was no doubt a guy who can make splash plays which is a hard commodity to find.

We had the number 1 passing offense (by over 20 yds per game over 2nd place), were 2nd overall in total yards.

I'm for spending every pick on defense

Doesn't matter who we have at receiver / TE; Brees turns them into stars. No Graham? no problem. Who had even heard of Snead before? 1000 yards.
We're looking at 7 wins again if we don't get 3 new starters on defense

I agree, sort of. I am ALWAYS for picking BPA If that happens to be a guard fine, otherwise I see no need to reach for one. I'd like for us to go the Carl Nicks route and pick an offensive tackle and convert him to guard to get a big athletic guy next to Unger.

I like PFF's grades in general but sometimes they might come across as misleading. I think that usually comes down to a lack of info on how they have made a certain grade. Anthony's left me scratching my head.

I've noticed that a penalty can neutralize a pretty good game by a player.

His problem was pass protection, which is difficult to grade because we really don't know how deep he's supposed to cover. Is it his fault or was the safety supposed to pick up the WR?

Mistakes by one player can look like a mistake by a different player who noticed the error and tried to compensate.

It happened to Shanle and Harper a lot. They were blamed many times for someone else's error, just because they were the closest player around. Gregg Williams had a great discussion about that several years ago.

You trust those stonehands? Treadwell is already better and hasn't played an NFL down...

Coleman has worked his butt off and deserves a roster spot, but don't see him as our "x" receiver...
