Stephone Anthony is already the best MLB we've had...

Look at his playmaking ability and results in just his rookie season...

He was a no-brainer with the 31st pick, and will be the anchor of that defense for years to come...

He was good this year but was he better than Vilma, Mills, Johnson, Fields?

I am excited about Anthony too but lets keep som perspective.

I know a lot of people say not to draft for need, and to take your highest graded player. But being solid up front on both sides of the ball is so crucial. QB is the single most important position in football today, but the overall foundation of your team starts up front. We are desperately lacking in multiple spots across both lines.

With that in mind, IF we go offense early I would like to see it used on a mauling offensive lineman. I haven't really sifted through the players to identify a specific name yet that I would like to draft, but that is a top priority. I think if the team is smart they can find that in the second round. They have to stop reaching for projects and find a good solid player like the Panthers got in Trai Turner. People like him are overlooked every year, because of some mythical flaw. When I see a guy running over high level competition, I don't care about his technique. He's ready.

I'd definite be looking at DT or a rangy OLB who can cover the intermediate areas and make sure tackles. Don't want another Sedrick Hodge, who can run like the wind but has zero instincts.

Anthony - Did very well considering all that dumped on him
Breaux - besides a few blopper moves what a great find
Snead - not a TD monster but the kid has guts. maybe a touch to much
Coleman - major strides all in the right direction.

I've not seen all the cause for hype with him, not that I think he was terrible or anything, but I can respect people's opinion if they have seen something that truly impresses them...

But I don't know how you can call him the best MLB we've had. I hope that one day he becomes all that. Right now he isn't close.

I'm with you. I believe a guard needs to be a higher priority, but I don't think any of them grades out to be a top 15 pick in this draft. more bottom of round one or round 2 guards. WHen it comes to BPA, we have various spots on defense (DT, DE, OLB) that need some attention and someone will be there at one of those positions when we pick. We can totally grab a top 3 guard in round 2, if we go that route

Vilma was pretty darn good for us, and that was later in his career
