Re: 2016 Saints Free Agency
Damn. I don't think this guy will have bigger salary than Laurinaitis. Could have been solid pickup. |

Re: 2016 Saints Free Agency
https://www.profootballfocus.com/blo...gent-signings/
From PFF, 5 bargain free-agent signings that will make an immediate impact. Look who happens to be #1... 1. Nick Fairley, DT, New Orleans Saints Nick Fairley has had the luxury of playing beside two of the most dominant defensive tackles in the NFL since being drafted in the first round of the 2011 draft. His first four years in Detroit were alongside Ndamukong Suh, while his 2015 campaign was spent in St. Louis with Dwight Stephenson Award-winner Aaron Donald. Consistently a productive player, it’s fair to wonder why Fairley struggles to land a multi-year contract in the prime of his career (he also signed a one-year deal in 2015). As a Ram in 2015, Fairley recorded the 11th-highest overall grade among DT/NTs. Despite this, he found his market rather dry and settled for a one-year, $3 million contract in New Orleans. The Saints ranked 31st in the league in run defense in 2015 (129.8 yards per game allowed), and last in yards per carry allowed (4.9). Fairley seems like an ideal fit in the middle of a defense that has been gashed time and time again in a division with three other teams who run the ball well. |

Re: 2016 Saints Free Agency
We still need a veteran interior lineman, really wanted to take a shot at G/C Stefen Wisniewski - he's with the Eagles on a one year contract - why couldn't we have thought of that?!?
Now, another G/C Interior Lineman option is Ryan Wendell formerly of the New England Patriots, but he's thirty, little banged up, and may give the Pats a home town discount; Pats players are like that, you know... Now there is G/C Ryan Jensen, but was tendered by the Ravens as an exclusive-rights tender, so it might take a trade to secure his services; but with Baltimore having just lost G/C Kelechi Osemele to the Raiders, they may be reluctant to part with him for reasons of continuity... Jahri Evans and his agent refused to take a pay cut for the second year in a row, though it was long overdue, is still unsigned and hasn't perhaps received an offer to make him sign; older vets like him usually wait to sign after OTAs and mini-camps... Amini Silatolu, a Carolina Panthers veteran is available but he's been injury prone with two torn ACL's in three years; so there's more reliability question marks on him than The Riddler... Wonder is we still have some diamonds in the rough in the NFL's Best Undrafted Rookie Free Agent Mine?!? |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Re: 2016 Saints Free Agency
How about Ronald Leary? Cowboys gave him second round tender. Trade is probably possible. They have depth... 5th rounder?

Re: 2016 Saints Free Agency
I really like this signings. We'll see... Wisniewski could have been excellent addition. Zack Brown addition, extremely cheap. Vernon Davis in our offense? Beast.
