So aside from a Brees' restructure, how do we work the cap?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Apparently Browner and Byrd have dead money, so cutting them won't help. We know there will be some likely restructuring among Colston(I would prefer we move on), Streif and maybe we part ways with Morestead. Who else do we let ...

We know there will be some likely restructuring among Colston(I would prefer we move on), Streif and maybe we part ways with Morestead. Who else do we let go of? I would say Evans or Streif one of them have to go. Maybe Lewis is traded? I know that's outrageous but he's 29 going on 30 and they traded Graham unexpectedly and Lewis might be the best trade chip. Breaux showed promise and PJ Jones should be back from injury it could happen. And Ingram...he got hurt but the running game showed it could survive without him. I really don't know.

On top of the fact also we have to pay Armstead.

We don't over-react.

We re-negotiate our high priced players and make room under the cap, like we've done for the last 10 years.

It's really not that bad.

Brees already said publicly that he is willing to work with the team.

Structuring him right cleans the cap altogether.

Cutting Browner will help in that it guarantees he won't be back out on the field olaying for us

we are painted into a corner. cap and 25% of the cap tied up in dead money. silly to keep adding to the amounts when the light at the end of the tunnel is so near. just two years....just two years....2017 we arrive at the promise land.
