He bulked up to 260 and is going to be a damn fast "open"(weakside) defensive end...

Sure, and that's where he's slotted to play; but if there's not much drop off from him to the others NTs on the depth chart, I can seem him getting moved because of his NT measurables and contract status quo...

Hey, I'm looking forward to seeing him with the pads on, hitting, contacting, pushing, getting pushed; I just thing he'd be even better off the line, standing up, in a tradition 3-4; for us, he's likely to be limited to 4-3 under sub package; 260 lbs ain't sh*t in the NFL for a true 4-3 DE - he'd get tossed like a toy...

TC & subsequent pre season games will answer a lot of these questions.

This is why I like the Darryl Tapp signing. What he lacks as a pass rusher he makes up for in being decent against the run. We have no idea if EdiGwachTull can hold up against the run. Heck, the RB we're going up against in week 1 (Latavius Murray) is the same size as Tull.

But Tull may be faster than the RB Murray!

Fansided: New Orleans Saints: 5 Players Who Should be Cut by Week 1

1). Michael Mauti, Linebacker
2). Tony Carter, Cornerback
3). Vincent Brown, Wide Receiver
4). Brian Dixon, Cornerback
5). Connor Barth, Kicker

Response:
  • Mauti may be the most vulnerable of the veteran linebackers, but I got a gut feeling Saints' coaching already wants him back
  • Hirstius is spot on that Carter is in the rear seat behind younger players P.J. Williams and Damian Swann
  • Story has a problem with the Vincent Brown analysis, and that's that WR Brandon Coleman is no lock to make the team
  • Dixon angle is spot on that it'll come down to him fighting off one of the young UDRFA like De’Vante Harris (in fact, should Harris flourish, more than just Dixon will be challenged)
  • And with regards to the K Barth, I'd rather have the near perfect record inside the 45 yd line than Forbath's issues and only slight better percentage long range...

This could get interesting by the end of training camp. Watched some highlights of Houma at Michigan. SOFT hands coming out of the backfield and was a really good blocker.

I don't think Austin is a "lock" at FB.

PFF: RANKING ALL 32 NFL CORNERBACK GROUPS

The NFL has become a sub-package league. The transition is still on-going, and teams are moving in different directions with their fifth defensive back, but the fact remains that a team’s fifth DB now plays more than their third linebacker. With that comes a shift in focus when we consider the strength of cornerback situations around the NFL. No longer can you simply look at the strength of a starting pair—that third corner is an increasingly important cog in the defense.

Freshly armed with that knowledge, here’s a 1–32 ranking of every NFL CB corps; we’ve considered every team’s top three cornerbacks for our best projection of how each depth chart would likely line up if the season began today...

21. New Orleans Saints
Top CBs: Delvin Breaux, Keenan Lewis, Kyle Wilson

Key stat: Breaux surrendered 10 touchdowns into his coverage last season, a league-high.

You’ll struggle to find a corner with a more “Jekyll and Hyde” stat line than Delvin Breaux produced last season. He allowed less than 50 percent of passes targeted into his coverage to be completed (15 pass defenses), but a quarter of those 40 completions were converted into touchdowns. On the whole, 2015 was a strong season for Breaux, and while the returning Keenan Lewis will provide an enormous upgrade on Brandon Browner, he is yet to produce his form from his final season in Pittsburgh that would see this trio rise in the rankings.
