I'm looking at the defense, and the pieces are there. Jordan, Daveison, Jenkins, Kikiha, Anthony, Breaux, and Vacarro is a good start. We can easily fill our needs in the offseason and maybe Drew gets to ride off in the sunset like Manning.

+1. Add more speed coming off the edge. The Bronco's quickness last night was incredible. We look like snails compared to them right now.

Find guys who can get there in a hurry and arrive with bad intentions.

Exactly, their speed and physicality was staggering. Made us look like a high school defense compared to them!

Every time the panthers ran off tackle there were at least 3 guys wrapping up the ball carrier for a loss.

Broncos Defensive Linemen are more physical, play stronger; they run a 3-4 and their outside linebackers are incredibly fast, strong, violent as our Dome Patrol LBers were...

Noticed how a good TE (Greg Olsen) was almost a non factor as was Stewart even before he was injured? Forced em into 2nd/3rd & long, then that blitz came with a vengeance.

Wade Phillips did much to nothing up here in Deathstar country as a HC, however as a defensive coordinator he is amongst the best. Masterful defensive game plan.

Retool that defense with some impact players and Brees can get us back to where we belong.

Ben Watson is currently an Unrestricted Free Agent...

Not listing him there apparently is having the impact I'd wished to convey...

R3, S15 (Pick 79) OG Sebastian Tretola, Arkansas; Height: 6’ 4”, Weight: 317 lbs.

...or former Patriot, Cardinal RG Ted Larsen?!?

Evan Mathis will also be available, but how much more water can you draw from the Fountain of Youth?!?

Tre Jackson (FL State) 6'4" 330lbs was there in the 3rd at pick 78. We took PJ instead. Better risk was the OG (who NE took in the 4th, pick 111) than someone in trouble with the law just before the draft.

Many teams had a first round grade on P.J. without the DUI traffic stop...

It was the right play, smart play...

But if we're second guessing, there is a more glaring gaffe...

If we were willing to ignore personality, character flaws...

Why did we not take Marcus Peters at No. 13 instead of Andrus Peat?!?

Saints' Austin Johnson: Signs with Saints
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
The New Orleans Saints signed Austin Johnson on Wednesday, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Johnson has jumped between the Saints' 53-man roster and practice squad over the past three seasons, but in 17 appearances between 2014 and 2015, he totaled 12 carries for 31 yards and seven receptions (on 10 targets) for 45 yards. At the outset of the offseason, he'll be measuring himself against fellow fullback Toben Opurum.

We've got 'hot spots' across the board:

On defense, we need starters at Nose Tackle, Defensive End and upgrades at Free Safety, Weakside Linebacker; also need depth Middle Linebacker...

On offense, we need starters at Right Guard, Left Guard and Tight End and X receiver to groom behind Colston and interior offensive line depth...

In the kicking game, we need a PAT and inside the 45 money kicker...

RECONFIGURED DEFENSE FOR A 3-4 FRONT SAINTS DEPTH CHART - 2016

Note: Thought we could see what we have already on the roster if we were to scheme our personnel in comparison to what Denver ran in the Superbowl...

We'd still need upgrades at NT and LDE and a couple of linebackers, but the front seven definitely has a "faster look" to it; we still have depth issues, but we were going to have them either way...

Okay, just wishful thinking, but this is what our defense could look like if we'd sign Mailk Jackson...

The point of this, besides self-gratification, is to demonstrate the flexibility the sample signing would allow us going into Draft 2016...

Our priority in Free Agency 2016 should be a big edge/setting defensive end...

But the Pats will never over use him. He is part of a rotation. The saints tried to get way too many snaps out of him. but we have been saying this for years about many of our defensive players.

way too many snaps to stay fresh for an entire game much less 16

Re: 2016 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook

Three biggest concerns looking at the Saints Roster:

1) We have no reliable size at wide receiver/tight end.

2) We have no size/depth on the interior of our offensive line.

3) We have a very shaky backstop/center field on defense.
