Re: Rams have cut Chris Long
If we can indeed get him at a fair price, considering his injuries, I'd absolutely take him. He's a really solid around player, who can at times be dominant. When I see what Kevin Williams brought to our defense in his limited role, I can see Chris having an impact, as he is a good bit younger. He might not ever be at his full potential again, but if he were, we wouldn't be having this conversation. We'd never sniff a deal with him.

Yes...bring him in, please. We need help (any help) on the Front 7. Even if he's rotational, he's an upgrade at D-line depth which we desperately need.

Re: Rams have cut Chris Long
Reminds me of Byrd and Spiller.
The only problem with Jairus Byrd and CJ Spiller was injuries. And they weren't that bad to start with. Now people are wanting to bring in Chris Long, who has had more injury problems than Byrd and Spiller combined? I don't get it. |

Re: Rams have cut Chris Long
I kind of am tired of this let's sign 30 year old players and this whole "underdog" stuff. And last thing we need is rotation. We need a every down pass rusher. We already went the older player route last season and it didn't exactly work out too well.

Re: Rams have cut Chris Long
I'm tired of people that assume since a player was awesome 3 or 4 years ago, that they're still just as awesome.

Re: Rams have cut Chris Long
I really liked him when he came into the league and he has been a really good player. Just not sure how good he will be going forward.

And your comparison with Byrd and Spiller? We're talking a lot less money here, or all bets are off. So what is confusing about any of that? |
