Hot damn! If you're so great it's a wonder you don't have Loomis' job. I'm pretty sure that he got his contract as low as he could, and most probably it's a pretty good one making it work with the salary cap. Which I very seriously doubt any of us understand what's really going on with that

I think the way the contract is he will be making about 3 or 4 million this year, and the end of the contract is supposedly easily reworkable to open up space if needed. These contracts aren't always what they seem. I read it on BR. Could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure.

He set a career high in catches with 54 last season but finished the year with 491 yards. His best seasons came in 2014 when he finished with 774 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. He logged 608 yards in 2013.

Getting away from Dwayne Allen, who caught some passes and logged a good amount of snaps at tight end for the Colts, should help Fleener see his production go up. And his lack of yards last season should be viewed with the knowledge that Indianapolis had a revolving door at quarterback with Luck battling injuries throughout the season.

You are dead on. Fleener has the capability to be a huge piece of the offense which any of us that have half a brain would have to admit sucked in the red zone. This is a no lose proposition. Totally back loaded with a player that will fit our offense much better than that of the Colts because of the head coach.

Those of you with your frilly panties in a wad about the deal need to chill out.

So who has heard what the signing bonus is?

So sensitive... at what point did I say I was great or better than anyone else? Take emotion out of it, look at the past mistakes that have caused significant cap issues (which we are currently "trying" to get out of) and tell me how this doesn't suggest overpaying for a mid tier player and continuing the current cap situation in future years?

I hear the argument about it being backloaded and could end it sooner, etc. The issue there is (dependent on) the signing bonus number that could lead to substantial dead money counting against a future cap. It is business 101, Mickey Loomis wouldn't have to jump cap hoops every off season with good signings and contracts.

In the end, I hope for nothing more than for Fleener to be the best saints FA signing since Drew Brees and eat crow.

When you insinuated you could sign Fleener for 3 million or less, and I'm not sensitive I could careless. You just come around to troll every once in awhile

Redzone target signed, now grab a OG and a defensive lineman of two and they are set for BPA through out the draft
